What about 1.19 ?

If you like the X-COM2 game, then you could add an alien invasion at the end game.
For example, add an X-COM base, units, and technologies.
Add alien units, UFOs, an alien base to be found.
Add the abduction of the population of cities and the abduction of civilian units. And also add intimidation actions.

I looked at the list of civilizations from the game Humankind to compare them with the list of civilizations from this mod, and see which regions were not yet used. I found 4 regions:
1. Africa. There will be no civilizations in version 1.18 that represent the Bantu, Garamante, Zulu and Nigeria cultures. By analogy with a small modmod, I would like to see Nigeria and the Zulus (Bantu) in the game.
2. Balkans. The Humankind has Bulgaria. I think with the new map it would be good to get a real owner of the Balkans, so that they are not always under the control of Byzantium, Austria or the Ottomans. Still, they were resisted. I think one civilization should be enough. This could be either Bulgaria or Hungary.
3. Australia and Oceania. A distant region that rightly does not influence world history. In that game there are now a bunch of indigenous peoples of Oceania, who in this mod are shown as the Polynesian civilization. But in Humankind there is also Australia and New Zealand. I think adding one Australia is enough.
4. Indigenous peoples of North America. The peoples of the Mississippian as well as the Iroquois cultures are represented in Humankind. They, of course, have not achieved the technological successes of their southern brothers, but at the moment they are represented only as barbarians. I don't know if it makes sense to add someone to the mod. Think for yourself.

It would be cool to have the Mississippians as a civilization, give the USA something to struggle against in their westward expansion as well as a check against the Spanish (they're one of the reasons Spain focused on the Caribbean and South America after all). The problem is that they were wiped out by smallpox so thoroughly that we know very little about them beyond what we've discovered archaeology. Our place names and leader names would be sourced almost entirely from De Soto's expedition (so only people and places he encountered), and forget about names for great people. It would be tenuously historical at best. Still, I think it'd be something worth considering down the line.

I agree that a Balkans civ is a good idea, the new map should have room for it, and more African civs would be nice too.

Interesting, but the Mississippians wouldn't really pose a threat to the US since they should collapse way before the US spawns. :p

Maybe a Mississippian Civ could respawn to represent the five civilized tribes since the Chickasaw, Choctaw, and the Creek are all descendants of the Mississippi Culture.

Giant death robots and kaiju. Civ 5 and 6 added the giant death robot for extra realism---something that history buffs like myself just love. Unfortunately where they came short is never giving the giant death robots a proper counter. I therefore proposed that barbarian kaiju come out of the sea starting around 2000 to create the ultimate modded matchup.

today we cancel the apocalypse

...And then this kaiju will just die in battle with native archer due to 0,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance to loose.

The Mississippians would be a nomadic civ.
(but with camps that are sedentary)

Is this what a camp looks like?

This civilization can also be made settled approximately within the boundaries that I showed in the picture. These are approximate territories of Iroquois expansion together with the cultural center of Mississippi - Cahokia.
Their implementation is a little more complicated than a regular civilization:
First period (Mississippi culture) - civilization appears in the 11th century in Cahokia and is severely limited in expansion, facing enormous difficulties due to the hordes of barbarians around. This is required so that by the 13th century this civilization would not have time to build no more than 2 cities (including the capital) and would not be able to significantly influence the development of infrastructure. In the 13th century it should collapse with the destruction of cities. This is a combination of Harappan and Kongo ideas.
Second period (Iroquois) - then this civilization is revived in the 16th century near the great lakes and directs its slow expansion south to the Mississippi River. Civilization is again faced with a large number of barbarians and again before the appearance of the USA it should not grow more than 3 cities with the same poor infrastructure. When the US shows up, they immediately declare war on the Iroquois and have an invading army to quickly destroy them.
Option when a player plays for this civilization:
In this case, the player appears in the first period and tries, with great difficulty, to build his state. By the time the United States appears, he should not have much technological development and his country should not have more than 4 cities on average.

If this gains real traction, I believe this civ has been made before (pretty well) in another iteration of Rhyes and Fall (might have been abundance?). The Iroquois never had what we might consider a true city (nothing with a substantial pop), but the Mississippians did. I seem to recall the last successful iteration of their civ was very much like the Harappans in that they had a few local goals (pop, collect X corn resources, and something else), a time period to complete them in, and then (if they were controlled by the AI) they would disappear at a historically appropriate date. They were a fun puzzle civ but they never did (nor should) interact much with other civs.

They interacted with other indigenous civilizations of America. But what I really didn't like was that after them, almost the entire forest of the eastern US was cut down before the Europeans arrived. It looks terrible.

There is no connection between Iroquois and the Mississippian culture.

Then there is no point in adding a new civilization, since the Mississippian culture is at most one tribal camp, and the Iroquois are at most barbarians who are still appearing.

Well that sure is one way to show one's disdain.

For what? I really do not understand. I have deep respect for you and your work. Of all the possible interesting proposals, I will deliberately choose exactly how it will be implemented by you in your work. But this is the second time my comment has been interpreted by you as sarcasm. Although I never use sarcasm at all.
