Yeah, that's a pretty bad hack. Sure, take your basic quadrupedal vertebrate body plan and spend a small portion of evolutionary history trying to force it to work in an upright position.
That wouldn't even a problem if our feet were accurate enough to steer the mouse. But at one point we'll start steering the mouse with out thoughts anyway, so that'll not stay a problem forever.
Seriously, why are our feet so useless? It's like having 2 extra hands that you can't really use for anything other than walking and kicking people when you think about it.
