While I liked Audiosurf for that reason, lately I realized that I could just lower the BGM in the options while leaving the SFX where it is, allowing me keep a delightful balance of proper rock and metal music and in-game sounds. BF2 and DMC 3/4 are good examples.
Nothing like being a jet whore racking up massive kills while listen to Megadeths' Prince of Darkness.
I've rebooted the Company of Heroes campaign on hard. Pretty annoying stuff, but worth it. Well illustrates that the vehicle AI is dopey and close range combat is broken (pointblank shooting misses, no melee combat, tanks 'overrun' but don't run over infantry), but still a great game overall.
Playing a little random BTS just for breaks and to break in the new 2 gigs I got.

Only recently? Thought a gamer of your calibre might have picked up the appeal of matching your own music to games a long time ago. Was tearing up Middle Eastern nations to the sounds of Oasis in Desert Strike over a decade ago! And Mario Kart multiplayer can only be played to the sound of Rhapsody nowadays
You know that saying that "pleasure is just an intermission to pain", well, any other game is just an intermission to TESIV, Im always playing Oblivion, always.
My current in between games are Crysis and COD4. COD4 is ok in some bits, but for the most part its really bland samey stuff and it just does to much annoying crap to let me really get into it. Crysis on the other hand is absolutely brilliant in my opinion, and I honestly wish more FPSs were more like it than COD4 or Halo. It also doesn't hurt that I have the specs and machine to run it on High and have no significant frame rate drops.
Played in the last two weeks :
- BtS (have to finish to crush the Native Americans to get a dom win, but the endgame is rather tedious)
- Audiosurf
- The wonderful end of the world (a Katamari Damacy like, very fun)
- Spider solitaire while listening to music.
- CFC (Not a game, but...)
Killer 7 (GCN) for the last couple weeks. F-Zero (SNES) since yesterday, when I found a copy with the box, manual, and even the little ad for Nintendo Power magazine. Got it at Half Price Books, of all places.
Also, I envy you people who can play multiple games at once. Since I started college, I've been lucky to have one game going at a time.
