What are your brilliant ideas?

Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK and Vatican City.

Some of those no doubt (Monaco = Principality? and Liechtenstein by a monarchy), but I'm not so sure if the rest are really ruled by Monarchs or they're democracies but somehow the monarchs escaped the usual violent overthrow and bloody execution and are left as either a keepsake or an anomaly.

But that's getting off topic of the OP! Will continue in a new thread.

Human-waste-powered automobiles. It solves the problems of fossil fuels and potty-stops!

Humanity needs species-wide goals.

Our entire civilization is built on the concept of greed. While this works in the short-term, it won't work in the long-term. We need long-term goals that we can all work towards, otherwise we're all screwed.

What are species-wide goals?
How does our western civilization not work in the long term? In the long term, capitalism allows the ambitious individual make enough money to live however they want. What other longer-term goal should an individual have?

This is an argument for Monarchie above Democracy

Yes, capitalism allows an individual to live however he/she wants. It achieves egoistic goals aimed at the individual.

What we need are goals aimed at civilization in general.

I'm not proposing we remove the freedom of individuals to live how they want. I merely suggest that we figure out where the hell we're going as a species. Right now we're aimlessly wandering through the dark, being driven by nothing but pure individualistic greed of individuals who have been fortunate enough to succeed & make the money they require to live well.. and better.

Right now, as a species, we're heading nowhere in particular. We need a plan.

What would be a good goal for a species? Can you give an example of another species that achieved its goal? Maybe we could emulate that success.

My brilliant ideas are patented, trademarked and/or copywriter.

A good goal for a species? How about working together to ensure that 200 years from now Earth is as habitable as it is now, if not more? How about making sure that we don't enter another phase of mass extinctions on this planet?

These might seem like idealistic goals, but right now we are all working against eachother.. Virtually every single being on this planet has his/her own selfish goals. We must unite a bit & do something great with this civilization we've built up.. instead of letting it fall apart due to a lack of proper maintenance.

I agree.

- Guide an Asteroid into Earth Orbit, to be used as the foundation for a space station.

- Focus on establishing the capacity to produce spacecraft in space, such that we don't need to worry about dragging everything out of this gravity well of ours. We build up an industrial and population base in Earth orbit, Moon orbit, or at Earth-Moon Lagrange points (Whichever is most feasible at a given time) From there it will be easier to explore, expand, and make a name for ourselves in the cosmos.

Take the warning labels off of everything. It would get rid of all the stupid people.

This is a good idea. I got a new calculator today and read the instruction manual, wherein I found this sage advice:

"Remember to press the ON button before using the calculator."

"Remember to remove plastic cover before using the calculator."

:faint:

Trying to form a 'Universal Earth Governament' that still retains the independence of the countries. Kinda like the U.N, but they would anwser to the entire human race.
