What boardgames did you just play?

I got myself Tiny Epic Kingdoms a few weeks ago and had a game of it last night. I highly recommend. Its like a less complicated version of Scythe. And very portable - the box is tiny - hence the name i guess. Im surprised its only got 6 stars on board gaming geek. As i think its better than that. Although im no board gaming connoisseur.

Played a game of Terraforming Mars last night with 3 players, Corporations and the Prelude cards.
Took a long time (over 4 hours) and had a very close finish.
3rd place had a score in the 80s, I was 2nd with 90 and 1st place had 91.

Going to be playing some 3 or 4 player games of Inis later this week.

Hi.

Our own game, actually.

Going to Kickstarter very soon.

We initially developed our game as a Mars colonization game but then the Mars games started popping out like mushrooms after rain and we reflavored it to a Moon game, instead.

Just had an evening of playing this - Master of Orion the board game. I was a bit dubious at first - none of the people i was playing with had played any of the computer games (whilst i was a MOO2 veteran and also had the newest title - which the board game is largely based on). Still, ventured forth. I think its a pretty good game actually. For people who like games like Scythe you should find it quite entertaining. Its a sort of card/strategy game. You have lots of decisions to make. And its also not quite as challenging to understand how to play - so a bit more lite for those with family considerations. Link here:

Does anyone have a game in mind, which includes a maximum amount of chaos and/or sabotage?
Robo Rally comes to my mind for the first, and for the later several cooperative games, but I'd need something which will work with 2-3 people.

EDIT: And Jenga is a bit too simple ^^.

Hmm, 2-3?

For more (like 4-8), I would say Captain Sonar.

King of Tokyo/ King of New York is fun @ 3

I used monopoly the political one. It had different rules. It was about 4 months ago I don't really remember it but it had democrat and republican as well as some other delegates in the spaces. There was even a white house and one player could actually hold on to it. It was neat.

Playing "Pandemic Legacy: Season 0", set in the Cold War. Fun twist on the Pandemic Board Game line - I recommend it. :)

Me and my mother decided to try one of the games you get as a bonus when buying something else, then put in a drawer, and it was very fun.

The person to the left of you draws a card with 6 "questions", you roll the dice to choose one of them, he/she reads it and turns an hourglass.

For example, the question could be "USA presidents", and the first letter in every answer is all that counts, so Reagan would mean you could check your R if you didn't already hadn't.

The first one to fill their entire A-Ö paper, wins. That turned out to be a problem when both of us had all but Q, X, Z, waiting for randomness to decide the winner. So we changed the rules to first to 20.ä

How do you cross out å?

I know its not the boardgame version. But this was my most recent Terraforming Mars game. I was purple. It was so close the whole way through. I even completed the mayor award on the 2nd generation. Ultimately it was Zeppelins that swung it yellows way. As I funded the banker award and was winning at that point. But that card changed the whole dynamic.

Carcassonne: Hunters & Gatherers - Played on Yucata.de. Compared to the base game, I enjoy the rock-paper-scissors approach to farmers, where deer are countered by tigers for overall farming points. This adds an interesting layer of offense/defense to tile placement. I don't quite understand the huts yet, but everything points to a sweet spot for this game's complexity without being too overbearing.

Should you have nothing but a pen and squared paper, I recommend this game that I don't know the name of or who taught me when I was young.

Draw a race track, decide the direction, draw a starting/finishing line and put your cars on it. The first turn, and after crashing, you start with moving one tile N, E, S or W.

After that, you either repeat your previous move or put your new position NW, NE, SW or SE of it. That's how you accellerate/deccellerate and turn.

Imagine a "star" with the center placed on where you would've ended up if you continued, that's your five choices.

If the connected line to your next position, pass through out-of-bounds (touching it is OK though), you've obviously crashed and start from where you hit the wall.
