What Book Are You Currently Reading?

I finished reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson roughly 4 days after purchasing it, and so I returned the book (it was in perfect condition) and exchanged it for The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. So far so good.

I recently finished "The Wee Free Men" and now I have just started "A Short History Of Almost Everything". I don't read many pages a week (probably less than 100), so I won't be finished with that one for a while.

My driver's handbook to prep for the written test.

Just got finished with The Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn.

Book? What's that? ;) Haha! No. I ain't reading any books at this present time but my favorite book is A Whisper Of Wings by Paul Kidd. It's a fantasy novel and the illustrations are just stunning. I even made a Civ 2 scenario about it and have submitted it to the Civ 2 Downloads section yesterday. :D

Actually, I am reading a book. (Very scarry that I am.) It's that Harry Potter. I read the other ones and just had to read this one.

I'm still reading "The Guns of August". Lanrezac was a genius to do what he did. I feel bad for him because he was hated by his entire country for literally saving the entire 5th Army...

I'm still reading The Guns of August too. :p

Can't believe I forgot this in my previous post.

The Risen Empire by Scott Westerfeld

Finished it a week ago. It was great , but one of the weirdest sci-fi books I've ever read.

Are you up to the comical unpreparedness of the Russian Army as compared to the amazing preparedness of the Germans? The German soldiers were dressing up as female peasants will the Russians were banning vodka, which was a third of their national income.

Yeah, I just finished that part an hour or so ago.

"German soldiers, posted as informers, were found dressed as peasants, even as peasant women. The latter were discovered, presumably in the course of non-military action, by their government-issue underwear; "

just finished the punic wars by a. goldsworthy, nice little book:soldier:

Now on "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. So/so, nowhere near as good as the Diskworld series...

Right now I'm working my way along a Calculus and Algebra exercise book. Will probably finish it up in a few days ...

Still, it doesn't compare to a good Arthur C. Clarke book...

Right now I'm reading The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien. I'm almost done with it. So next I'm gonna read the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Fredrick Engles use it as my SSR book in school since its starting soon. After that (mabey before if time allows) I'm gonna read The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien.

im reading two books at the moment one is the new Harry Potter book and the other one is Che Guevara The motorcycle Diaries

The best short fiction of J.G. Ballard

I don't know if it counts, but I am currently reading "Starting out: The caro-kann" by Joe Gallagher. And yes, it's a chess book about the opening caro-kann.

Sadly, the "play chess" forum here seems to be as dead as Horatio Caro and Marcus Kann.
