The Andromeda Strain (1969) by Michael Crichton is less of a chilling thriller than I'd hoped for. It's a little dry. Okay, it's a lot dry. I couldn't tell you the names of any of the characters right now, but it wouldn't matter if I could, because I can't really tell them apart anyway. It sure flies by, though. Somehow it's very readable. Maybe I'll watch the 1971 movie when I'm finished. I see that it was remade as a television miniseries in 2008, with Benjamin Bratt, Eric McCormack, and Viola Davis. Probably not going to watch that one, but I'm intrigued by the cast.
