Poland

LEADER; Józef Piłsudski or Lech Wałęsa
UU; Sherman (replaces Tank) +1 Movement such as the Panzer, cost less!
UB; Factory that doesn't require Coal to be built and gives a 75% boost to production - Cost=250 - Maintenance=1
UA; Solidarność, Unemployed citizens still work on tiles if used as Specialists.

Dutch:

Leader: William of Orange
UU: Watergeus (Replacement Frigate; Hidden nationality)
UI: Polder (Can only be build on marsh, removes marsh, acts like farm, +1 happiness (more living space))
UA: Should be trade related. Maybe: "VOC mentality" +X gpt for each traded resource (both import and export).

i don't know how i feel about poland having a tank built by americans for a unit, but i guess that more than just the english had a ship of the line, too

Call it a coincidence, a day later a Poland Mod is now available in the Browser. The stars must be aligned.

HEBREWS;

LEADER; Moses
UA; Migration... Capital can sustain at least 3 specialists free, by choice.
UB; Church, (Replaces temple) Zero maintenance. +4:c5culture:
UI; Olive plantations possible in Desert and Grassland +2:c5food:

Maybe the Olive Plantation could be a UB which provides +1 olives, which can be traded? Also, the Church seems too much like a Mud Pyramid Mosque to me

hebrews should probably have a unit too

Majapahit:
Leader: Gajah Mada
Unique Unit: Kapal (replaces Caravel, can melee attack, starts with Targeting I, all other info stays the same)
Unique Building: Candi (replaces garden, doesn't require rivers or lakes, +33% :c5greatperson: great people generation in this city, all else the same)
Unique Ability: Grand State (half maintenance on buildings)

Yep, i know - *THEY* are sooooo controversial whatever anybody's choices for Israel ancestors.

Resources are either Bonus, Luxury or Strategic while UI are done with & on terrain tiles.

Burial Tomb gives +2:c5happy: & +2:c5culture:

Now, if i were to alter Church with +3:c5influence: or +3:c5gold: instead of culture would that be considered controversial as well?
You see - how Hebrews are fairly hard to involve without at least replacing ONE building since Mosque & Egyptian Tomb were used in place of Temples.

Then, Monasteries in Medieval. Or Cathedrals found in Civ4.

All Religions being equal to the atheist - nobody can't deny Jesus was crucified by Romans in Jerusalem and that an Hebrew temple has as much meanings as Mecca does to Islam.
While Confucius or Buddha also draw crowds in places.

Even if any UB provides different effects.

What about the Cross (be it a reference to resurrection or the whole Catholic Faith) for a Monument - would that be more obvious or yet another symbol?
See, again - the closest thing is culture.

nobody's criticizing the hebrews. all he said is that your building is too much like another one, except weaker. and i said that they should have a unit, just so that they would fit more with the other civilizations.

How about have it replace the Monastery, and not have Incence or Wine required?

I like this... soooo;

UB; Church +3:c5culture:, same cost, same maintenance... but replacing the Incense/Wine effect with additional +1:c5gold:/per city population (somehow, charity)

UU; I can't think of anything or anyone that could represent the Hebrew that uniquely, awesome. So recommend something.

a lot of people suggest maccabees whenever the idea is brought up. templar could work, even though they weren't really hebrew. "mighty man" sounds kind of lame, but king david's warriors were known as the mighty men. if they don't plan on adding espionage back, they could have an invisible scout called a spy that can explore rival territory like the 12 who spied in canaan. of course, if they do add espionage, which they probably won't, you could go with mossad agent or something and make them an improved spy or great spy, but that's probably going to get some complaints because that's more modern israel than ancient. i'll make this next line big, because i know i probably wouldn't bother reading all of that if i were you guys:
^that in a nutshell: the best idea overall for a hebrew unit is probably maccabees, though spies or mossad would be cool, too

I suggest the Merkava, personally. Very cool tank and it has a unique design philosophy as far as tanks go (do everything you can to protect the crew) that would work well in game design. I'd suggest a Modern Armor replacement with a greater combat strength and rapid healing.

I like Maccabees (having two UUs isn't a bad idea), but I'm always at a loss on what they should be.

Well, I've gotten at least as far as to say Swordsman or Spearman, but that's not particularly useful, is it?

Well, the only thing I remember about Judah Maccabee is that he ambushed a Seleucid army or something (before going to caves and the whole 8 days of oil thing happened). I wonder how the retreat power of the Incan slinger would play on a melee unit.
