I already mentioned that Finland was ill-suited for a Firaxis Civ. But the list is what you want in Civ5 and I figure the discussion is useful for mods as well.
Even if *we* have no control over what Firaxis considers to be worthy of inclusion in *their* game... Mods will always stand as an alternative to *our* or anyone's needs - given.
But what i meant is that CFC membership is widespread internationally, you don't get to read much if anything *outside* the cultural edge of English communications.
Not everyone has the same opportunity - so to speak - to express how important they think *their* country is on the world scale.
For me, Finland is a modern "Result" of
extremely complex European history.
Take WW2 as a pivotal twist if you want - but the political dynamics changed since and certainly lead to Cold-War mechanics.
The Berlin wall, Gorbatchev reforms, Terrorism -- all of which had monumental impacts on Global issues.
So if a Civ *must* be included - it has specific reasons for being --wanted-- by someone.
The democracy of gameplay?
Or a necessary reference to some borders drawn on actual maps of our planet?
I identify with Canada
& specifically Québec... because i was born there. Whilst i'm sure Oslo residents know exactly what Ikea supplies to the World as much as Helsinki citizens.
In a sense, immigration altered (once again) a huge amount of social and political dynamics *everywhere*. When Egypt revolted recently, i had to stare at their flag in a shopping mall along side the greek crowds in Laval! Suburbia, the melting pot.
Nevertheless, i too still can go anywhere on Earth and Homeland sickness can't be ignored as an emotion. Reality is - *we* are all the same, pride and culture included.
