If it is Spanish, than it is Colonial Spanish. If you mean Spain, than it is Castillian/Catalonian.

Actually here in Venezuela, I have noticed some sort of inferiority complex, of how people refer to Espanol as Castillano to associate themselves with the Motherland. I find it kind of hilarious actually, and can't help to snicker when they say something like "en CASTillANO blahblahblah"
