Good point. I do think that trousers made of the same material would have looked dumb though. Maybe if the satin strip running up the leg matched the general material of the jacket. That way the trousers main material would match the collar and the strip the jacket. Would have brought it together more.
What do you all think of the turn down collar, instead of a wing collar? I noticed that nearly every other man in the various pictures also wore a turned down collar. Maybe they are much more acceptable now. Or maybe movie stars don't know how to tie ties.
Also, regarding the lapel, that is the collar of the jacket, I did find out that Sean Connery did popularize the shawl collar as James Bond, so the collar of the jacket is sort of a cool call back to the OG 007. That gives me a bit more appreciation for it.
