Currently I'm using Internet explorer and am considering switching to Mozilla. Do you guys think this is a good idea?

Mozilla Firefox, trust me, it's the best. Mozilla is a major CPU user, and firefox is basically the browser without all the other features, liek an email client, and IRC Chat. If you want to add ons, get mozilla, otherwise, get Firefox.

This thread needs a Poll :D

Um... If you have a powerful CPU, go for Mozilla, I like all the extra features, though it is a CPU drainer/user. If you don't need an e-mail client, or Chat, or any of the peripherals Mozilla offers, go for the lighter FireFox, it wont use as much CPU power.

Opera is a good bet too, though I would prefer Mozilla over Opera any day... tabs!

I hate firefox. It's slow, cumbersome, and generally pisses me off.

I don't like explorer because of all the extra crap you get with it. Takeover ads, pop-ups, and the like.

If it wasn't for the takeover ads, I would be using avant browser. It's IE core, and has all the extra stuff that Firefox has. Tabbed browsing, mouse guestures. . . and it's built in. No need to d/l extentions.

Opera.
- Mouse gestures.
- Pop-up blocking.
- Tabbed browsing.
- Browser identification.

I'm also for Firefox which is a specialised browser compared to the all-in-one Mozilla (although the development is related). The version 0.8 is a clear improvement over the previous version and we can look forward to rapid continuous development to Version 1.0 when most of the wish list would be fulfulled.

Firefox.

I'm now able to use Firefox to enter my bank as well, but to download a BankID for my declaration I needed IE. I probably will always have to have IE installed, just in case... and it's not like I need the space.:)

In school, that is right now, I use Opera though.

Firfox or Opera. Both have their good and bad parts... I personally use Firefox, but Opera is as good...

*cough* MSIE cannot be unistalled without uninstalling Windows... */cough*

Look for a browser with Pop-Up blocking for sure, and Tabs are really good too. Some people like mouse gestures, though not all.

Problem with using anything besides MSIE is that some sites *cough*GameSpot*cough* are unoptimized for anything besides MSIE, and some will not let you access their features without MSIE (e.g. Downloading an ID)

Generally, the most preffered are Opera and FireFox.

Opera is the best.
Too bad they won't let me install it at work. I'm constantly doing mouse gestures in IE at work, I'm so used to them at home...

Seems to be a tie for Opera and Firefox. For me the deciding factor is the Open Source nature of Firefox which means it's free and also a cooperative effort by users whereas Opera is proprietary and the "free" version is adware (when I last used it).
