What is the best type of sword to raise for conquest?

Kosall.

The problem is if you want something symbolic it needs to be shiny and covered in gems and be generally useless in actual combat. Either that or wickedly spiked, heavily used and dripping blood from a recently slaughtered foe. I would go with the second option as that way you only need to carry one sword.

Not necessarily a sword you're going to use in the conquest, but rather one that is the most emblematic of one of the oldest human endeavors.

Pit Barbeque!

The same sword I use on all of my conquests. My longsword.

Yes! A fellow friend who is also believes in I-think-katanas-are-silly-overrated-pieces-of-steel-that-have-no-intrinsic-magical-abilities-and-neither-do-the-race-that-make-them-ism.

I think a lot of American teenagers go through a Japanese fanboy stage where everything from that particular nation is awesome--anime, samurai, ninjas, etc. Fortunately, at least a few grow out of it.

Pffhahahahaha

If "a lot" of teenagers did it, liking anime wouldn't be so god-damned stigmatized in high school.

Be realistic.

Aside from being a nice model of car, it's also a good sword.

A cutlass as a sword really isn't visually impressive. It's really kind of cheap and utilitarian ;)

Two traits that are really good for conquest. And they also apply to an iron fist.
