What is the game you spent most hours playing?

I wouldn't know; definitely it's going to be older games as I had more time back then.
Most likely:
- railroad tycoon, transport tycoon
- prince of persia
- dune II, warcraft

In more recent times I've spent quite some time on GalCiv II with about 180 games played.

Final Fantasy 10. probably around 500+ hours - still havn't finished ubering my characters either. but my ps2 got stolen about 3 years ago and I never replaced it. so havn't played it since.

Either the settlers or Baldurs Gate 2, settlers was probably the only game I played on the Amiga. Replayed Baldurs Gate 2 tons of times had alot of mods which helped.

runescape and BFV both claimed over 700 hours.

Civ2 probably claims the title, but if you take the entire X-Wing series it could come a close second.

Lord of the Rings Online and Football Manager should get a shout-in as well. The latter has consumed a lot of my gaming life, and I'm not even that big a fan of football!

SimEarth (PC and SNES), Civ 2 MGE, Sims 2, and Celestia (That last one's not a game, but I've still racked up tons of hours on it, even in the present time.)

I can't figure out which game I've spent THE most hours on. I spent all 4 years of highs school playing Civilization 2 MGE. I've spent some hours on the Sims 1 game, but not much cuz my computer was too slow for it.. Before that, most of my childhood was spent alternating between SimEarth, SimCity 2000, Zelda, and various Mario games. After high school, I discovered Celestia, Sims 2, and NationStates (don't remember in which order though).

Since then, I've alternated between lots of Celestia, and lots of Sims 2. I would leave Zelda: Ocarina of Time on just for the music for weeks and weeks on end, the console running literally 24/7. Same with SNES SimEarth. Lately, I've been doing almost exclusively Celestia. I still log on to NationStates every weekend. Sometimes I play a little bit of Sims 3, which is where I got my current avatar from.

Who knew being me would be so much fun? ;)

World of Warcraft. That doesn't mean it's the best game I have played, just the biggest time hog.

world of warcraft, if my xfire has anything to say about it, but i still think that my old love for subspace/continuum still reigns supreme in time spent playing, if i logged on now and checked my hourse it would probably come to around 3k or so hours, that was before i had xfire tho ;)

Civilization IV, Oblivion, Final Fantasy III (XI in Japan), Super Smash Bros might fit in the top of the list of games that I've spent 50% of my life in. Also Super Mario Bros. 3, Ocarina of Time, and possibly every Madden game combined. StarCraft (Brood War), Diablo (Diablo II couldn't load on that conputer at all), and Diablo II (when I finally got it working, I wasted a lot of my mornings playing that game. I would listen to my favorite radio show and had the game muted).

The first game I got hooked on was Sim City 3000, then Age of Empires I, then Age of Empires II, then Civ III, then Civ IV. I've played plenty of others, but those are the ones that I just went gaga over for a long time. For instance I've played through the entire Half Life series (without cheats and only one hint (just jump down into the fan, it will bouy you up!)), except the end of Episode II, but that was linear. Played through once, not indefinitely.

Oh and PS. Master of Orion III. I really liked it. Only me, nobody else.

Now it's definitely Mass Effect 2, by the way. By at least a hundred hours.

Half-Life 2 (And it's related episodes and mods Inc. Smod), Garry's Mod, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead series, and TF2. Though Resident Evil 5 has shot up in hours of play for me.

I'm ashamed to admit, that probably most time I've spent on Runescape, WoW and few online FPS games. Couldn't be worse than that. Runescape actually was pretty good, I've heard it's in much worse shape nowdays, but the time you can spend on doing repetetive tasks is limitless. Playing it was nothing, but work. I also would have got sucked in EVE Online really badly if I had started it earlier.

Runescape had the most, I would say. I know I played it from 2004 to 2008 almost every few days. 2nd, age of empires 2, 3rd, call of duty4, 4th, civ4 and finally 5th, Oblivion.

Honourable mentions: age of mythology, age of empires 2 and warcraft 3.
