What is the most harmless "crime"?

Is genocide a harmless crime?

"Marriage is between a man and a woman." - Illinois

That's somewhere in our constitution. Hence gay marriage = illegal.

The State of Oregon actually has a constitutional amendment against it...

******** ain't it?

Still doesn't make gay marriage illegal, just says that it isn't really marriage. Big difference. Yes, it is very dumb, but it really isn't the same as outlawing it.

walking on the grass

Intellectual property rights are in the United States Constitution - do you consider that a pro-socialist document?
Of course not, and nor am I against the idea of copyrights (though patents are another matter) - I was just mocking your ridiculous notion of branding people "anti-capitalist". There is more to capitalism than what's in the US constitution.

At best, you might claim they are disagreeing with the US constitution - though again, this is about "harm" not "rights".

Furthermore, the US Constitution I believe talks about a "limited time", a term which is now being stretched to breaking point (originally it was 14 years - now it gets increased everytime Mickey Mouse comes close to falling into the public domain...)

The Founding Fathers recognized them as property rights. With software, it generally takes a lot of work to get a functioning & marketable product. If the price is too high, people won't buy and the price will come down. Those that are pirating are no better than common thieves.
Clearly, they didn't see them as property, since your property right for physical property does not expire after 14 years. And I hope you don't need to be told how theft is different. Personally I'd much rather some guy copy my software when he wasn't going to pay for it, rather than him come breaking into my home and stealing my things.

??? Information is the most valuable commodity on the planet.
I fail to see how this assertion has any bearing on what I said. If it's valuable, all the more reason not to restrict it, some people could argue...

I don't think that theft is a Left wing or Right wing issue. No matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, theft is a problem. Even anarchists don't like their stuff to be stolen.
No one mentioned anything about theft.

It's funny - I'm _for_ the idea of copyrights, but some of the arguments put forward are so bogus that I can't help arguing against them, it's embarrassing to have these points made in favour of copyright law, and does more harm than good in trying to convince people.

As defined by our inane rules governing intellectual property, maybe.
Actually, no, theft as a law never refers to copyright infringement.

And in common usage, theft implies removing something, not merely copying it. It's embarrassing for the argument for copyright that some people think that copyright can only be argued for by conflating it with a different crime.
