[NFP] What is the worst looking leader in your opinion?

I like Civ VI's artstyle, but admit that while it has some smashing successes in certain areas, it could be... "improved" in others.

So, let's single out the room for improvement and determine (through utter objectivity and definitely not just pure aesthetic appeal) which is the worst looking Civ VI leader.

My vote goes for Alexander.

I hate his face. So, so much. That stupid grin. That stupid chin. The weird way his mouth folds all of the time... you know what I mean!

That... that stupid thing.

And the worst thing is...

I'm supposed to hate it.

The art team gave him the most PUNCHABLE FACE I've ever seen... they tried to make you hate this man, and they tried HARD. Fortunately, they succeeded, because we have the crazed egomaniac of a snobby teenager that is our Civ VI Alexander.

But I must add they succeeded in making him hateable a little too well.

Alexander the Great is one of Civ 6's worst models imo, especially compared to V's or even IV's. An injustice to my man I shall never forgive.

Gandhi and toad-face Qin Shi Huang are pretty bad too.

I think the smug face for Alexander was designed on purpose anyway.

Harald looks fine. What bothers me is that he, for some reason, worships the Norse pantheon. At least, that what his dialogue insinuates. He was Christian...

Kublai Khan, Gandhi, and Baby-faced Basil are the top contenders for me. Menelik is pretty bad, too, with his oversized head and knitting needles for fingers. The rest of her model is fine, but the clipping on Victoria's model bothers me a lot. Also Eleanor looks like Pre-Raphaelite Princess Barbie* and Alex looks like a melty Ken doll so they make a nice couple.


*The model itself is fine. I just wish that they'd either made Eleanor look more like a Medieval queen or they'd made her look more like a Pre-Raphaelite painting. The Barbie Princess thing just doesn't do anything for me.

I think I dislike Qin's model the most though, he reminds me of that fat git "Boss Nass" in the worst Star Wars film. I generally have an antagonistic relationship towards China, as he's always whining about how many wonders and great people I have.

I think I like Cyrus' model the most.

My pick is probably Kristina, although I am also not a fan of Alexander or Matthias.

To me, it's Victoria. If Disney ever decided to make a movie about Queen Victoria, I'm pretty sure she would look like she does in Civ VI.

Victoria, she looks like Toy Story 1 era CGI, her face is way too smooth with pretty much no feature, it's disturbing. Honestly looks like she has been designed 5 years before the other vanilla leaders.

The ones where they push more into "cartoon" or unrealistic territory (or whatever you're gonna call it). Gandhi, Qin and Cleo look horrible to me. Not just bad but actually repulsive.

Poundmaker is the best looking one IMO.

I liked most of the leader animations until they resorted to doing reskins (and even then, Ba Trieu and Ambiorix are cool).

The problem has always been the lack of coherence. You have respectfully portrayed dudes like Hojo and Cyrus side by side with cartoon gonks like Pedro and Qin. And how they decide which female leaders to make waifu and which Kathy Staff analogues is a mystery. Is there a single female leader who looks normal i.e. neither hot nor Kristina nor Wilhelma?

I dont like Captain Hook, I almost see his hook hand when I meet him.

Basils impressive beard looks like his is cut out from another picture model. But by MS paint so the whites around the beard is still visible.

Menelik looks freaky. Insane almost.

And Hammurabi is constantly in rage.
