You could have expressed your point quite well without using a reference to anatomy. The thread if five pages long and I do not seen any moderator actions - and given the sensitive nature of the subject, this is surprising.

I was always under the impression that the word ******** was always used to mean to more extreme, ranting... well... nazi-ish breed of feminists. Never as simply a synonym for all feminists.

One problem I have heard associated with feminism is that any attempt to criticize any of its leaders is seen as attacking the goal of the movement. And I suppose in some cases that is fair but in cases such as Anita Sarkeesian, attacking her the way she has been attacked is like attacking the movement. There might be valid critiques to be made about her, but the people sending her violent threats aren't making them.

I apologise. I did actually spend a good 2 or 3 minutes trying to think of a good synonym, but none of them summed up quite what I wanted to express as well as that.

I think it is obvious to people what "********" means in this case. It doesn't mean race hatred or a conflation with the holocaust it refers to an overriding attempt to control behavior. Take something like the "Ban Bossy" campaign..they want to freaking ban a word because they disagree with its use in certain situations. That is an authoritarian approach.

That instead of people screaming past eachother they calm down and try to listen what "the other side" has to say. Only then can you have a rational and honest discussion about these problems.

I don't see enough people from any of the camps involved engaging eachother in worthwhile dialogue. It's just poop flying back and forth.
