Probably this was done before, but I am curious what is the average age and distribution of civ players.
Location, gender would be informative too :)
How long you have been playing?

My info:

33 years young :)
Male
Chicago, USA
Civ Noob. Never played it, and expecting it in the mail this week :)

Thanks a lot in advance.

STAT UPDATE
Total Count = 302 :)
Average Age = 28.7 years.
86% males.
40% USA.
Distributiuon By Country:

HSTOGRAM IS ATTACHED AND WILL BE UPDATED FREQUENTLY
Looks like it is taking the Rayleigh distribution.

Interesting is that we have more in the 70 group more than the 60. Also none in the 65 :( Maybe busy getting ready for retirement THEN they can spend all the time to play CIV :)

29 old
male
Paris, France
Civ 1, 2 and 3 (mostly 2) and of course 4

EDIT: I forgot MoO2 (I think the worst game ever for my social life, got disappointed at MoO3)

39 -- yikes! I remember posting to these types of questions when I was still in my 20's! Where did the time go???

edit: Male, playing since the old 286 days, first game was Medieval Kings or something like that, followed by CIV1. Anyone remember having to tweak config files to squeeze out XMS memory?

Dallas, TX burb (recent transplant)

Current age average is = 30.3 years :), not bad. I am glad lots of mature people play it.

100% males
Mostly USA

Expect more regions to contribute as the night falls.

25 Male
Southwestern Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
Technically played civ I but was too young and stupid to understand it.
So for practical purposes, civ III began my love affair.

14 Male
Westlake, CA, USA, Earth, Section ZZ, Plural Z Alpha of space (all HHGttG fans would get that:D).
Started with Civ3 and loved it (still play it) and am now trying to enjoy Civ4 but it is hard to do (not as good as far as I am concerned).

The biggest hurdle in gaming, for me, was the transition to windows 95. I never did get Master of Magic going again and getting MOO I going was a nightmare.

34, Male
Eugene, OR
Civ I-4

37, female, Portland Oregon (English by birth, but I moved here 7 years ago). Bought and played the entire series, including SMAC, CtP and etc.

Started playing Civ 1 back in the early 90s :)

Oh and Vyapti, get DOSBox for all the old games. I'm playing all the classics again on XP :crazyeye:
