O+. The most superior blood type for the most superior humans. The rest of you are all dying off slowly at the hands of evolution.

Ditto. Alpine, perhaps we're related! :D

Not sure. I think my parents are O- and B+ though.

Common old garage brewed A+.

O+ seems to be the most common on CFC.

If one of your parents has a phenotype of ii and your other parrent has a phenotype of IB IB or IB i. Then you may have a ABO blood type of eather O or B.

If we can go further with the Rh factor. One of your parents with a O- has a phenotype of dd while your other parent with a B+ has a phenotype of Dd or DD. (Note: I took into account if one of your parents has a heterozygous alleles)

For a dd + DD:
Code:
           | D | D
---------------------------
   d | Dd | Dd
---------------------------
   d | Dd | Dd
---------------------------

For a dd + Dd:
Code:
           | D | d
-------------------------
    d | Dd | dd
-------------------------
    d | Dd | dd
-------------------------

Odds are you might be a O+, O-, B+, or B- if I did my genetics correctly

One thing im surprise is that so many ppl dont know their blood type. I must ask everyone to get to know their blood type and write this information somewhere in the wallet or even wear a dogtag, this is very important as in case of emergency the hospital staffs may know ur blood type even when u happened to be unconscious so as to save valuable time.

Exactly, in Turkey you can not get a driver's license, if you don't know your blood type.

I currently (At the time of this post) dont know my blood type. I did not cast my vote at this time because I would be soon getting a Blood Donor Card from the American Red Cross after donating blood.

Would a Blood Donor Card suffice? My GF has a Blood Donor Card that has her blood type (Both ABO group and Rh factor) as well as lifetime units given.

yup, that will be enough, actually, all u need to do is to get the correct result and write it somewhere, where it can be easily located. There is also rumours or unwritten rules that said, Blood donors will get priority to the blood if there is a shortage of emergency blood. But this is rumour only.

I probably shouldn't be shocked that so many people do not know, but I am shocked...

What's the deal?

I like to be positive, so I am.

I believe O+ is also the most common worldwide.

Also, the high reporting of negative blood types can be explained by the Rh-negative mother-with-Rh-positive baby issue in pregnancy. People are more likely to be aware that they have negative blood because it actually matter sometimes.

O- here.

That is very surprising. I knew my blood type even before I gave blood so most people should know it by now.

O-

I read that A, B, and AB blood gives on some resistance to waterborne bacterial diseases like cholera; while type O blood gives one some resistance to syphillus and a lower risk of getting certain cancers.

Just got my blood donar card just today and it states that I am O+.

PS: Apologies about bumping a month old thread since I just got this information today about my blood type.
