what kinds of guns have you fired?

I"m in Canada where they have spent over $2,000,000,000 - Yes, 2 BILLION Dollars - trying to get farmers to register their antique shotguns, what a waste !!!

Recently I went to Florida, and rented some guns there - didn't ask for ID, I couldn't believe it !!!

Glock 17 - Awesome firepower, I'd take it to a buck-fest anyday !
S&W .357 Magum - An absolute Hand Cannon !
Beretta 92 FS (or was it CS) - Mel Gibson's personal Fav.

And I can't believe nobody has posted this yet -

Uzi 9mm (aren't they all 9mm?) on full auto - boy if I could scam free ammo out of some company, that's all I'd do all day.

On a side note, from 40 feet on full auto using regulation targets, I put 8 in the head, and 6 in the 10 Ring. I only missed with 2 bullets out of 30, and they were about 1/2 inch off target. I don't know where the Uzi got it's reputation as a "Spray and Pray" sub-machine gun - anyone stupid enough to point a gun at someone with an Uzi better start praying because it was VERY accurate.

FYI - The Glock cost $7 for the rental, $7.50 foro a box of 9mm ammo, and the lane rental was $3. For $30 I was there for about 2 hours bucking and blasting.

Don't mean to threadjack here BUT - I asked about the price of an AK-47 - $400 !!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe they were so cheap, just before I went to Florida there was a weapons bust in Toronto near where I live, and they got an AK-47. The cops said the street value in Toronto is $6000 CAD. Buy a couple, take them apart and put them in the gas tank of your car and you could make yourself a pretty penny - although I know I wouldn't want to contribute to little kids getting shot in drive-bys.

I like handguns best..

The orange 'Zapper' has a pretty low range, but it's powerful nonetheless.. Managed to get to about lvl 25 Duck Hunt

The Supersoaker has a better range than the Zapper, and is more effective aswell. This one kills all electronic devices and is great to irritate your neighbours with..

Well DvR, you are aware of the possibility to load the Supersoaker with other fluids than water?

Then it becomes not only lethal to electronic devices.

Heck, you could load it with sarin and be your very own WMD. If you do, remember to never shoot into the wind.

Hehe, ok thx for the tips! Especially the one about not to shoot into the wind

Hah! That super soaker is puny compared to one I had... 10x water, about the size of a mini-gun and a range of 25 feet! I had fun blasting the nieghbore kids for hours with it... :goodjob: only problem was it ran out of water too fast. :(

I was thinking of spirits. I think some kid once tried that.

Super Soaker + Gasoline/Kerosene + Propane Torch = Flamethrower ;)

Not for the faint of heart. Or those who wish to remain living very long.

I own a Sig P220, a 12 Gauge and a Gamo pellet gun. The Gamo is great for plinking squirrels, takes 'em down almost as good a.22 will but a lot cheaper.

Have fired lots of rifles.. the only ones of note were M1 Garand and M1 Carbine. Colt1911, Glock 17 and H&K USP 9mm & .45 in the pistol department.

You crazy americans :D

When I read that several of you guys fired assault rifles and rocket lunchers I wonder where you got the opportunity!?

just waterguns and so on.

which is kind of strange considering my father's side of the family:
grandfather was a tank general
my dad is a great shot with most handguns (mostly cause incredible upper body/arm strength, the recoil dont faze him at all).
some of my dad's relatives (third cousins i think) own a gun store/shooting gallery somwehree in iowa or idaho or some other "i" state.
would like to try going to a shooting gallery some day.

Prety good at archery (almost a natural talent, but i never practice enough). but that's not realy guns.

oh, and GREAT THREAD.
cause of it i learned to do this: Moderator Action: why wont people stop going off topic here?

For what it's worth, upper body strength has little to do with handgun accuracy, unless you're talking about putting an entire magazine in a target within 10 seconds, and then only for the heavier guns like .44 magnum and up. I see a lot of people do fine with a .45ACP (heavier than average recoil) in sustained fire (one-handed, no less) that aren't particularly strong.

@tossi:

Navy, for me. Probably military for most of us.

For not being 21 yet, and living in a house without guns, I've fired a nice assortment.

M-16, both the full auto and the 3 shot auto
M-2? 50 cal machine gun
another M something, can't remember the name, about halfway between the last two.

several 50 cal black powder muskets
22 rifle
bb guns

and as my avatar shows, I'm learning how to use a bow. Older style, but gives the same thrill and purpose.

The Scandinavians and Swedes seem to be the ones who've handled the heavy ordnance...:)

Holy crap dude! IIRC, they cost something like $1,000 to $1,500 here, though it may just be the people I've asked are mistaken? *plans a trip to florida*

None.
If the NYPD even suspects you may have a gun, they're bound to pump 30+ bullets into you.

I have shot a paint ball gun though, but it was one of the cheap ones, not those automatic ones. :(

I’ve fired an old classic 12 Gauge double barrel gun when I was out hunting with my grandpa...I was about 13 at the time and never fired it before. When I fired it, I didn’t really expect it to fire when it did so I jumped a little.
I don’t really remember its exact model but here is what it looked like (not the same model though).
