What Movie(s) Have You Recently Seen?

You mean defeats an atacking helicopter/plane ?

Yep, that's it. It's the best part of the movie. Other than that, it's not that good.

The latest film I've seen in the theatre is Casino Royale. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. I actually went and bought and read the book after seeing the movie.

But with such a costly production couldn't hey have made a better effort at correctly depicting the CPR effort, I mean with all those special effects in the film would it have been to much to ask if the chick could have inflated and deflated her lungs, instead it looked like a guy frenchkissing a corpse.

At that point, Bond wasn't going to do any scientific evaluations. He loved her, knew she was dying, and was making a last-ditch effort to save her life. Maybe you're different, but if I were in that situation I think I'd also be trying whatever might save her life, however low the chances.

That was not my problem. My problem was that after giving her hearth massage/pushing out water from her lungs, he puts his mouth over hers (as in mouth to mouth), but it looks silly because it is difficult to see if he is blowing in any air and her chest doesn't inflate and deflate as it normally would if a person would receive mouth to mouth (oh, maybe he forgot to pinch her nose together and the air was leaking out:crazyeye: ).

So he is smooching a dead person.

After 'Casino Royale' (wich I liked, best Bond movie for ages) I saw 'American Psycho'. I love that flic, especially the part with the subtly different businesscards, sweet stuff!

Today I saw 'Strangers with Candy' (the movie), pretty good. "I want your little spermies!"

And 'Robots', which all dough was very very pretty, sucked.

Twas in the mood for a western, so I popped in Silverado tonight after deciding that Sci-Fi channels weekly Saturday bomb was indeed going to be another bomb.

I saw Shaun of the Dead on TV last night. It was pretty good, and quite original, but I probably missed most of the jokes. I'm not really that into zombie movies.

I saw 300 last night. It was good, though not as good as everyone raved it would be like. But it certainly was one of the better movies I've seen in a while.
(I still hold my grudge that there would have been better material and action had it been intended to be historically accurate ;) )

Do yourself a favor and go see Grindhouse. It's cheesy, it's stupid, it's low brow, but damn if it isn't fun. It's a cheerful homage to fils from the 70's that slapped bad acting, sex and gore into movies designed to fill drive ins. Well this is it done right.

It's 3 hours of pure awesomeness. Complete with fake trailers at the start and between, there are two main movies of contrasting styles. The first, "Planet Terror," is a horror movie that doesn't miss a cliche. Suffice to say, it's hilarious, non stop, and you'll see everything coming. The second is more subtle. This one is by Tarantino and you can tell. It starts out with some girls talking in a restaurant with typical Tarantino dialogue and just when you start to slouch after all that action, it picks up in a big way. As one review I read aptly stated, "Death Proof has lower lows [than Planet Terror] but it has the big moments." I thought the dialogue of Tarantino needed some work and was definitely not at the level of Pulp Fiction, but it didnt ruin the movie.

I recommend this movie wholeheartedly. It's entertaining, hilarious, and it's a great deal.

THIS IS SPARTA!!!

300, and it absolutely rocked. I can easily forgice it's flaws, most prominent being bloating Queen Gorgo's part of the story. 10 out of 10 stars.

Noooo!? It's great.

"Shortbus" - THAT is serious sucking.

Lost in translation sucked. 2 hours of boring butt-suckiness. Awful.

I saw sword of honour. It's the guy from the james bond movie, and it looks like a war movie. It isn't, dont be fooled by the cover. There's like 5 minutes of action and 3 hours and 15 minutes of drama. Not a bad movie, but not great either.

Watched Chicken Run.

Hey! Lost in Translation is a very good movie!

It got 7.9 on IMDb.:p

What's so good about it? I tend to agree that it sucks. No story, no fun (except few moments), no sex, no nothing.

I expected a lot of humour, but left the cinema utterly bored. It had potential, but ended up only as a pseudo-art film.

Hollywood and historically accurate, has that ever happened?

If you go in to see a movie with certain expectations that do not get catered to because those expectations were based on bad info, it is not the movies fault that you are left unfulfilled.

Lost in Translation is very much a "grownup movie" and not a source of cheap thrills.
