I thought this might be a fun thread. Some of these are obvious (to me, anyway), like:

Missile Cruiser = Ticonderoga class cruiser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ticondergoa_cruiser_Port_Royal.jpg)

Modern Armor = M1 Tank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:OCPA-2005-03-09-165522.jpg)

and Spy = Vanessa Kensington (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2206370304/tt0118655) :D

Some others I'm not sure of - I can't quite place what the Destroyer is modeled on, for example, and the Attack Submarine actually looks like a missile sub (you can see the silos on the hull). Post the ones you know...

Other than the unique units, which are pretty self explanatory, many of them are really, a lot of them are straightforward. The Sub is a generic WWII era submarine, and the Destroyer is a generic WWII destroyer. Many of the classes from various nations are pretty similar in basic appearance.

Tank. = US Sherman tank of WWII
Infantry = US Army European theater of WWII
Marine = US Marine of approximately the Vietnam War era.
Stealth Bomber = US B2
Calvary = US Army cavalry of the latter part of the 19th century.
Fighter = British Spitfire of WWII
Bomber could be a US B24 Liberator or a British Lancaster, I can't tell, of WWII.
Carrier = US Supercarrier of the post WWII era
Guided Missile = US Tomahawk
Gunship = US Cobra of the Vietnam era and later
Jet Fighter may or may not be a US F-16. Not sure.
Machine Gun could be US or British WWI unit.
Mobile Artillery could be a variety of modern US or other weapons, they pretty much all look alike.
Paratrooper = US Army Airborne of post WWII
Rifleman could be any late 19th century European or US army.
Sam Infantry looks soviet to me, but unsure.
Stealth Destroyer = US DD21 program
Transport = US Landing Ship Tank of WWII

Edit, I shouldn't have overlooked the obvious, the Battleship looks like a US Iowa.

Well, that wasn't really what I was looking for. I did recognize that the Destroyer was intended to be a 1930s-1940s era destroyer, but wondered if it was modeled on a particular class, the way the Missile Cruiser was.

For example, after a little digging I've decided that the Attack Submarine is likely modeled on the Delta I Soviet missile sub (12 launch silos).

Yes - Funnel is too close to the forward superstructure for it to be a North Carolina.

I'm pretty sure the attack sub is a US Los Angeles class. It's the most likely class that's a tube for most of it's length.

This was fun thread and I decided to join after a almost year of occasional lurking.

Anyways, here's what I think:

Modern Armor = German Leopard 2A6
Mobile Artillery = US M109A6 Paladin
Mech Infantry = Russian BMP-3
Panzer = Panther Tank

Great General = Timur Leng
Great Prophet = Moses
Great Artist = Shakespeare
Great Engineer = Archimedes
Great Merchant = Marco Polo

The destroyer looks like a US Fletcher-class, but missing a turret.

Welcome to the Forums Wizard of Void .

All i know is that the tank is an M4 Sherman, and the Marine appears to be a soldier in Vietnam with an AK-47 instead of the M16.

the clubman looks like ... a clubman to me ;)
