Civ IV - Globalization

Any Civic can be made Global civic
Global trade embargos, etc
Any nation can go against any UN resolution, except it minus big time on relationships with people that follow the UN resolutions and a plus for all those that follow… opposite for all those that go against.

UN increased a lot more then I suggested…

Every Civ starts with a unique tech tree with a whole bunch of unique buildings, and units. Towards the end the techs all become the same and modern units, etc… are the same for all Civs.

Civ IV: Explorers would be cool.

Although globalization sounds like a concept that has been dearly underrepresented in Civ as well.

"Civ IV: No, Hitler still isn't in it and never will, so STFU already!" might be an idea too.

Civ IV Fantastic Worlds, Bring back those dinosaurs.

Civ IV Test of Time - Four linked maps

"The Green Wars" - so the antipolluters can get points for destroying civs which pollute "Mother Earth".

"The Whore of Babylon" - so satanists can feel like they belong and have some fun too, before it is too late.

"The Banana Wars" - in which the Guanabanas attempt to seize world dominion from the Bananas.

Others have already mentioned GUI editors for the game, and I'll just agree it is needed.

This game seriously needs a Windows interface to edit events, all scenario XML stuff, unit editing, buildings... you get the picture.

And it also needs documentation.... what do all the XML tags actually DO.

Yes, I could learn all about XML and Python, but I doubt I will, for a number of reasons. I really admire and respect the folks doing the python modding right now, and the people making these spectacular mods, it surely adds a lot to the game. But I suspect that these great folks are probably only 5% of the Civ player community.

But if Firaxis put in some GUI editors for events and XML, another 80% of the players could easily edit scenarios and mods, (those remaining 15% of you are the good folks who just want to play... with no desire for mods) and the replayability of the game would increase dramatically. Sales would skyrocket! Firaxis and Take2 employees and investors would be swimming in money, building their homes from gold bricks, and changing the name of their house to "Xanadu".... I really think they should consider it... seriously...

Oh, and they need to include a Satyagrahi unit, one that, if you kill it, negative repercussions occur for your civ.

Anything, as long as it is pacifist. Civ 4 is already focused enough on war as it is. Possibly something focusing on economy and diplomacy. What the hell is it with having to go to war in order to remain competitive?

Civ 4: Globalization sounds good, since I want Firaxis to improve the UN, include the effect of the world economy and minor nations, and simulate the geopolitical drama of our times.

Well said.

Civ IV: Air and Sea - with all the effort going into expanding these areas.

Says the man who has

I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.

as a sig. :hmm:

Firaxis delivers what people want. That's why Stalin and Churchill are in the game.

Civilization 4: Combined Arms (new naval units, pirates, more air units, air promotions, improved naval combat, naval blockade)

Civilization 4: Galactic Empire (futuristic tech tree with techs likely for the next 100-200 years)

Wauw, this game offers so many new expansion possibilties, I wish I was a developer at firaxis, it would be lots of fun to come up with new stuff for xp's. And I hope they'll do, and bring out litteraly tons of expansion packs :D
My idea for next expansion would be an expansion wich focuses on the great traders and explorer civilizations like we dutch , adding these civs with their own traits and I hope they make the trade system a little more exciting, like being able to send out trade convoys.

Civilizations IV: Diplomacy.

<fake advertisement>

NEW! Civil Wars!!! (can be optional for it to happen when you creat a game)
When civil war happens you can choose which side to be on. Civil wars in the game will happen usually due to cultural differences or just plain angry citizens ;)
NEW UNITS... Diplomats. Quinquireme ship, <<< might of spelled that wrong it was a big roman ship. New ship can bombard city. Catapault can counter attack it.
Can now make and launch cruise missiles from subs or land bases.
Assasin unit. Can kill diplomats of another faction without inciting war. (will hurt relations with the victims nation though)
Can now steal technology of other civs with diplomats and spies. Can incite riots and bribe units!
Allies can team up to build spaceship victory even faster by having one civ build certain parts and the other builds different parts.
Can disregard UN sanctions at the cost of sever relations drop with other civs that are in the UN.
Can GIFT units to the UN itself to help create a "peacekeeping force" Whoever is the security general at the time will be in charge of using the UN military.
Can now vote to impeach the UN security general. Vote rule will depend on how many nations vote against the general, populations votes dont count.
Can now coordinate attack plans with the Ai!!!
New great person! The Philosopher! (haven't figured out what he would specifically do:( I was thinking he would greatly increase your great people rate to a certain extent) The longer you are at peace in the game the more likely you are to have one.

Civilization IV: The Twentieth Century

I want an expansion pack with expanded civs, leaderheads, technologies, and units with an emphasis on the 20th Century.

Give me Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev, Adolph Hitler, Fidel Castro, John F. Kennedy, and the Ayatollah Khomeni. Give me Hueys, P-51 Mustangs, Zeroes, Ak-47's, M-60's, RPG's, and Stinger missiles. Give me tactical nukes, ICBMs, and Little Boy. Give me guerilla warfare, civil war, terrorism, and all the ugliness that comes with it. Give me genocide, holy war, facism, and communism.

In short, give us a game that gives us the problems we've faced in our own lifetimes, on a global scale, and let us see how we can handle it on our personal computers.

How about: "Civ IV: Captive Audience"
It would have a scenario where you could get away with anything you wanted because 85% of the entire population will buy whatever you're selling no matter what.
Or "Civ IV: Play the Game" which would introduce the radical new concept of a game ready to play OUT OF THE BOX!

Civ IV: Diplomats. Make diplomacy a little more difficult than it is now.

I whole-heartedly agree.

Just as this one is focused on warfare and was called Civ IV: Warlords, the next one will be focused on religion and be called Civ IV: Messiahs. The one after that will be focused on economic takeovers using cottages, and be called Civ IV: Slumlords.

War is good in small amounts.
