I think the idea about giving each civ a unique tech tree that gets slowly more similar to the other civ's as the game gets closer to the modern age would be cool. Also, all units would be unique to their civs until you get closer to the present. I understand that this would be a lot of modelling and texturing to make a bunch of new units, but they could decrease the amount of units in the earlier stages just a bit.

It could be Civ 4: Empires! (without the exclamation mark in the actual title)

It could also focus on the more economic and empire-building instead of the war-mongering.

Civ4: Terrorist Threat- becuase i'm sick of people being sensetive when they talk about terrorosts as not to inrage anyone when we all know they are bastards and they deserved to be baptised before being hung drawn and quartered becuase then they never get to their paradise in heaven.

oh ye and if anyone was offended by that please don't bother telling me becuase i couldn't give a f***

Ooo. Drawing and Quartering is soooo messy what with all those barnacle cuts and then you got the 4 pieces left. Nasty business, eh? A nice smothering and burial in pig skin, in a concrete casket dropped into the Marianna Trench is much more civilized. Pigs have some nice non-dietary uses don't they? But don't use a valve from a pig's heart if you are doing cardiac valve surgery in certain countries.

Civilization IV: no patch required

If they follow the tradition, the exp will have one magic keyword that explains the new content.

Some of the suggestions people threw out were really great:

Civ IV: Empires
Civ IV: Discoveries

As a peace-loving civer, I would love to have an exp that focuses on culture and nation-building such as:

Civ IV: Wonders
Civ IV: Commerce

or something like that.

Since Civ just added Religion into the game, and I think the expansion pack will hopefully spiff up the religious aspect...anyways, so I think a fitting title would be after Huntington's doctrine of "Clash of Civilizations" which was a very famous treatise on how the world would dissolve into religious conflict between the Christian West and the Islamic East, but I think it could be applied to any two conflicting religions.

It sounds catchy enough----> Civ 4: Clash of Civilizations.

Hmmmm, maybe "CivIV: Ideologies"? Sorry, terrible attempt to plug my upcoming mod :p :mischief: . Still, would be great if they included Ideologies in the XP.

Civ IV Fantastic Worlds

totally agree :goodjob:

a little more work in scenarios would be ok, the ones in warlords are far too simple, and some things are outrageous (the emperors council wonder pops the u.n. video and the votes still say u.n. )

more options in diplo/financial game, but the warmongering could use some help too (fix the forts already!!!!)

way more leaders and civ,, bring back babylon and the hittites

"Civ IV: No, Hitler still isn't in it and never will, so STFU already!" might be an idea too.

put him as a non-playable leader so we can kick his ass everytime  :nuke:

Civilization IV: The Twentieth Century

I want an expansion pack with expanded civs, leaderheads, technologies, and units with an emphasis on the 20th Century.

Give me Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev, Adolph Hitler, Fidel Castro, John F. Kennedy, and the Ayatollah Khomeni. Give me Hueys, P-51 Mustangs, Zeroes, Ak-47's, M-60's, RPG's, and Stinger missiles. Give me tactical nukes, ICBMs, and Little Boy. Give me guerilla warfare, civil war, terrorism, and all the ugliness that comes with it. Give me genocide, holy war, facism, and communism.

In short, give us a game that gives us the problems we've faced in our own lifetimes, on a global scale, and let us see how we can handle it on our personal computers.

I love this idea. The scenarios in Warlords, while decent, aren't nearly as good as the ones from Civ3 Conquests were. What's more, none of them are even close to being modern. Give me a couple of World War scenarios (from both World Wars), a cool diplomatic Cold War scenario, maybe even an economic globalization scenario. Another cool scenario would be one focusing on the space race, with an extended tech tree focused almost entirely on that aspect.
The main game could make religion have more and different effects, along with a somewhat expanded tech/unit tree. Make nukes and nuclear plants useful. Bring back the cruise missile and tactical nuke. Make the gunship able to cross small lakes or attack across rivers without penalty.
SDI should be much less effective or much harder to build.

Change the UN:
-civics shouldnt be controlled by the UN. Instead, if the UN adopts a civic resolution, any nation without that civic should take a diplomatic and trade hit with nations that do.
-aggressive wars should cause more global concern, not just the person you are fighting/their friends
-if you piss enough people off, they should be able to institute sanctions (they can already, but it should be done through the UN once it is built)
-if the UN passes an anti-nuke resolution, you should still be able to build them, but you will suffer some unhappiness in your own cities (protests against nukes were quite common in the US), and it will also affect diplomacy

There are other changes that would be good, but thats what I'd like to see (especially the scenarios).
