What song IS the greatest song ever?

Another honourable mention (was John Peel's favourite song)

Wouldn't say it competes for "greatest song ever", though it is a lot better than the cover Greenday did of it...

And whereas this may not be the greatest song ever either, it probably is the oldest surviving song :)

The latter song, I actually performed live at Birmingham University Students Union in 1972.
Apart from a brief spell busking in Brussels a few years later, I abandoned thoughts of a performing career.

Chuck Berry would probably have a better legacy if he hadn't put those cameras in the ladies toilets in his restaurant.

Ack, no thanks. CCR's version is way better

I know it's a cover...

I thought Trent was married to hot pretend ginger Tori Amos but according to wikipedia he wasn't.

No Ramones? What's the matter with you people?

I'm very disappointed that so few have suggested classical or older music, or in general just music other than pop/rock. What about all the great blues from back then?

(Not that I'm able to myself. I'm disappointed that I'm unable to do so too. But you know, I expected more from CFC!)
