What sort of drinker are you?

I am extremely irregular in drinking. If I dont consider 1 beer as drinking, I drink average once per 14 days.
I drink only beer. When I was kid/teenager I was drinking pretty much everything. I should drink other alcohol but I dont enjoy it more than good beer. Also there is beer cheaper than Coca cola or soda, unlike other alcohol.
I didnt liked shots and was doing it only because social reasons.
I had maximally 16 beers + 5 shots of herbal liquors
I normaly dont chase but if so, its vodka with juice. When I was younger I was chasing peppermint liquor with beer.

- how often do you drink?

Few times a month.

- do you drink wine?

Only with a meal.

Alergic

- are you a fan of hard liquor?

Yes.

do you drink it straight or do you mix?

Depends on the circumstances. If I'm just trying to have a nice relaxing break from stress, straight on ice. If I'm trying to get stupiddrunk, mixed with diet coke until I'm stupid enough to just do...

- do you enjoy putting down shot after shot?

Why waste time pouring shots?

- what's your limit?

Half a sip from being too drunk to fu... er, my limit depends on my plans.

and last, but still importantly:

- do you chase?

Depends on what I'm drinking.

Chase what? Women?

Here, we use the term "chaser" to refer to a substance that you ingest immediately after taking a shot of something so as to mask the burn and taste. I personally don't do this and am disdainful of people who do.

My answers:

I drink everything, but I dislike things that are overly sugary (coconut rum and rum with cokes fit the description here)

I enjoy beer-related activities (ie, pong) and taking shot after shot. I can probably put down 6 or 7 shots before getting really drunk.

Actually, I find that girl drinks make me throw up more than straight shots of stuff. Weird. When I get quite drunk, I usually get less social, so in a way that's good since I avoid saying/doing scandalous things/

Sure I could, but would I? ;)

All I'm saying is that you're new to drinking, so.. you're obviously not going to have a good time if you overdo it.

If you've never had meat of any kind before, and you devour 4 steaks one after the other, of course you're not going to have fun afterwards.

Take it easy. Becoming an alcoholic isn't something you achieve overnight - it takes baby steps and lots of dedication and patience.

Pray tell, what do you drink to achieve the above?

some civil war, flip cup, and occasionally chandeliers.

I'm very much interested in what these are.

Also, I've found that Blue Moon is a quite decent beer.

But why? If it burns, don't fudgingg drink it....

Last spam post here... All I'm saying is it takes one small step to begin a long journey. No one plans to become an alcoholic I'm sure. As I said it runs in the family. My uncle has ruined his life with it and my brother wrecked his car in the woods and almost got killed. And he still drinks way too much. That said I might still try it once more; what drink would you recommend for a beginner? So as to hide the hideous taste of alcohol (preferably with something that is less hideous itself ;))?

I'm not old enough to drink.

So in what way do you drink when breaking the law?

I'm very much interested in what these are.

Silly drinking games.

Also, I've found that Blue Moon is a quite decent beer.

Blue Moon is alright. I'm on a Dos Equis thing right now; pour it and squeeze a lime in, its delicious. Also, try the same with your Blue Moon, but using an orange slice. You'll find this for several beers, that citric acid unlocks new flavors, but not all beers, so don't think its a universal thing.

But why? If it burns, don't fudgingg drink it....

But drinking hard liquor that strips your esophagus clean makes you, like, so hard core bro! /turns hat sideways

On that note, I think the last time I had hard liquor was to do precisely that: I had a sore throat from drainage buildup, so I had a bit of Jack Daniels to literally clean out my throat. Felt awesome and worked much better than gargling brine. :yuck:

I am the best sort of drinker: thorough, professional, determined, leaving nothing to chance.

Lately my drinks are jameson on the rocks and jack and cokes.

I also like good wine, especially white, and good beer, the thicker the better.

Lately i've been drinking about once a week. Sometimes I just have a few, but sometimes i can have 12 or more, especially if I'm drinking all day.

My heavy partying over the last few years have given me quite a tolerance, but I'm definitely toning it down in my old age :p

Never let the law stop you.

Flip Cup is probably the easiest. You play 5 players per side, stand in a line with a glass of beer (usually 1/2 full, sometimes 3/4 or 1/4). You chug the beer, put the cup down, and try to flip the cup so that it lands with the open side on the table and stays there. Once first person in line finishes, you go to the next person, and first team to finish wins.

Civil War, by the rules I play, (George Mason U. modified for those keeping track), is like a hybrid beer pong/flip cup. You have 2 teammates standing on opposite ends of the table. Opposing players (on same side of table) shoot at triangle of cups like in beer pong. Teammate gives them back ball until one is made. When one is made, teammate chugs beer and flips like it in flip cup. They cannot shoot until they succesfuly flip the cup. You might want to google some various methods on how it is played because it is really hard to explain without a live example in front of you.

Chandeliers needs liquor and beer. You put a shot glass in the middle of the table and put larger cups with beer in front of each player arranged around the shot glass. Then, you shoot a quarter off the table into the cup. If you make it in your glass, you drink your glass (and do not refill). If you make it an opponents glass, the person drinks their glass and refills their glass. Making it in the center shot glass makes it a chug race. Last person to set down their glass has to drink the shot. Everyone then refills their glass. One hand is a drinking hand, one is a throwing hand. You can also play with a ping-pong ball and make it flip-cup after chugging it.

"Like all jolly good fellows, I drink my whiskey clear;
I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer!"

On lovely but rare occasions, I drink a glass or two of red wine; pinot noir is the best of them.

Infrequently, I'll have a Manhattan, which is best with Jack.

I'll only drink beer if I happen to be out with people at a brewery. Beer is for making chili.

- how often do you drink?

Not very often, maybe once/twice a week.

do you drink wine? beer? spirits?

Yes, but mainly lager.

- are you a fan of hard liquor? do you drink it straight or do you mix?

Occasionally drink rum and coke, straight - Bourbon or brandy. But they give me a bad hangover so never very much.

- do you enjoy putting down shot after shot?

No, not even when I was young.

- what's your limit?

Sadly, after years of ex-girlfriends 'Haven't-you-had-enoughism' interfering with my practicing - very little, on a bad day I can start to feel queasy after 5-6 pints. I perfer to drink at midday or during the afternoon as this seems to give better value (more effect per pint, rather than monetary value)

- do you chase?

I usually have a pack of peanuts after 3 or 4 pints. ;)

For you I recommend 2 bud light limes and not a drop more.

This thread is meant to be a light-hearted discussion about people's alcohol drinking habits. By the question in the title, I mean:

- how often do you drink?
- do you drink wine? beer? spirits?
- are you a fan of hard liquor? do you drink it straight or do you mix?
- do you enjoy putting down shot after shot?
- what's your limit?

and last, but still importantly:

- do you chase?

Of course, feel free to add your own.

I'll chime in a while after this thread is going.

(Note: let's keep this thread clear of discussions about obtaining alcohol, and focus on the act of drinking itself)

1) 5 or so times a year
2) Wine only
3) **** no
4) who the hell does that
5) never been drunk
6) what does "do you chase?" mean?

6) I have never been intoxicated, I rarely drink more than 4 ounces (when I say drinking I mean drinking more than 6 ounces)
