What videogames have you been playing? version 1.22: What's with that plural?

I'm finishing Act 2 in Crucible. The Crucible aspect works pretty well in how it adds weapon mods. I've gotten good ones. The fights are hard and dying is easy and common for me, but worth it when I need a weapon upgrade.

Here is where I think GGG is going.
  • POE2 will be announced at ExileCon in July
  • Beta will begin soon there after; beta play will given away or awarded as prizes at ExileCon; Other might be able to buy a beta ticket
  • POE2 will launch in the 4th Q.
  • We'll see the new gems system at ExileCon
  • A modified Ruthless will be the new foundation for play. It is GGG's attempt to get back to the 2013 play style that they have built on ever since.
  • With that new starting point and the new skill gem system they will have a new starting point for adding content in future leagues
  • All the current expansions (heist, delve, blight, etc.) will be more integrated into the story line and less of separate content as they are now
  • The old Acts 1-10 will be consolidated into 6 or 8 acts to match the new pathway to the end game.
  • Many old QoL issues will show up as fixed
  • The old Acts will get facelifts for their graphics

@Synobun and I played some Portal 2 co-op. I trapped him in a doorway and tried to fry him with lasers and he dropped me into a pool of acid. Very good.

Weeeellll... turns out God of War, on hard, is actually really hard!

I've been on a roll of finishing games on their maximum difficulty - all mass effect, all witchers, all dragon ages, guardians of the galaxy... whatever I tried, really, I could suffer a bit, but eventually, I'd get it down.

God of War, OTOH, is unceremoniously kicking my ass, really! I'm very early on, and I'm already kinda stuck on the second revenant. I even searched for online hints for this fight, but the tutorial I found shows a mechanic that generates a different result when I execute it. Don't know if patches have changed the mechanic, as the tutorial was kinda old.

Guess I gotta get good, but the situation is reminding me of the first time I played mass effect 2 on nightmare. Grueling frustrating repeated attempts and deaths in each encounter, until I custom-find a strategy. Great for me a few years back, but now I play in thirty minutes increments when the baby is sleeping. Don't know if I have the time, or energy, to inch forward like that.

And this isn't even God of War mode! But heck, I'm always surrounded, attacked from multiple ranges and directions by enemies with homing projectiles and alternate modes that can break guard or that can impose negative status effects.

My guess here is that my grip on the mechanics for this game is tenuous. I have to understand better how can I debuff and stun enemies so I can manage crowds.

Or I can lower to normal mode. I'm not there yet, but... it's on the table!

Mass Effect 1 Legendary edition. Playing a pure biotic character.

Gonna do the trilogy haven't plated for a few years.

If you like to trophy hunt, getting 100% on the legendary edition is WAY easier than in the original trilogy, specially Mass Effect One. Not nearly as much grinding as before, and Pinnacle Station, that was both boring AND had the one legitimately hard mission on the game, was removed...

I can't remember pinnacle station. I
Don't care to much about trophies if I get them I get them. If not eh.

They lost both the source code and the backups. No, really.

@Birdjaguar @Grendeldef i very much enjoy crucible so far. it'll probably be a huge pain in the rear in mapping if you both need the right crucible tree ON TOP of the right weapon, but if everything else fails you can just ignore the crucible part and play as normal with a good weapon. some very interesting mods, have to say. i rolled some excellent bows early; while the bow bases are obviously trash, it doesn't much matter when one of them gives that +2 min endurance AND frenzy charges, -2 max power charges. i also found a god damn Rotgut and am planning to do stupid stuff with Immortal Call (until i eventually needs to respec). endless onslaught and long immortal calls. will be fun.

I'm liking it too even though I am only in Act 4. Being able to handle Crucible beasts makes much of the other bosses pretty trivial. I got good axe nodes early and they were a huge help even on crappy bases: I got Cleaving and Feller of Foes on two of them. Attack speed seems to show up frequently too. "Use 'em and lose 'em," I say. I expect to go with Boneshatter later. I really don't doing Acts 6-10. :(

Though if you do like Pinnacle, modders have ported it over to the LE.

second part of the campaign was fun the first time, but with enough playthroughs they're definitely the most unexciting part of the game, yea. i'm in act 6 atm, looking forward to mapping.

i browsed the subreddit and people are, let's say, really annoyed that crucibles are so difficult to beat at max charge. i don't myself mind it much yet, you can always charge it less. however, i'm unsure from the information that i'll do many runs of the forge of the titans, since it seems like old archnemesis stuff again (ie bad). although it's atm possible to cheese the forge by just running past the mobs for the currency you want. so we'll see.

Fans have ported the DLC from the original game into the Legendary Edition.

The Long Dark: Tales from the Far Territory

Stalker, Day 15. Leaping more or less right back into a new game, I spawned in Forlorn Muskeg mid-morning. Same Feats as before: Cold Fusion, Snow Walker, and Blizzard Walker. I foraged around a little, until I realized I was right at the foot of Hat Creek. I took that as an invitation and headed for Milton. I picked up a lot of coal in the caves, which ended up saving my bacon when I had to spend the night in the Lower Basin. After ransacking the farm and downtown Milton, I went to Mystery Lake. On Day 14, I found the Mystery Lake Prepper's Bunker. As happened last game, this one was fully-stocked with all kinds of goodies. I could stay here for a long time, if I wanted to, but I'll probably take a few days to move everything back to the camp office. The bunker's kind of gloomy inside.

I still don't have a rifle. I've found 2 revolvers and 2 bows, with 7 arrows and 3 spare arrowheads. I guess the game wants me to be a bow-hunter for a bit. Okay. I saw evidence of a moose over by the lonely forest cabin, north of Unnamed Pond. I'd like to at least have a satchel before I head out to Forgotten Airfield. The Technical Pack would be nice too, of course, but I don't know if I feel like going all the way to Ash Canyon again. We'll see. I'd like the crampons too, but I can always make a crappy pair if I don't find any real ones.

The new Aviator's Cap is great; good cold, wind & water resistances. The downside is it uses leather for repair instead of cloth. I found some of the new Acorns too, but I haven't used them for anything yet.

According to the Bioware people, another company made the content, and didn't keep it later, and they themselves had some kind of hardware failure in their own backup. Never heard of a company losing data that way...

I don't actually like that DLC, and think the game is better without it. Boring, repetitive with no story. Nevertheless, it's bonus mission is the only legit difficult mission on ME1.

I could get it on PC; got legendary edition for free with Amazon Gaming... but I normally play on consoles.

Might one day download on PC for MODs. Galaxy at War is supposed to overall a lot of the game...

I'm mystic too. Trying not to think about how the game has been ruined by the remote raid changes because I just keep getting madder the longer I think about it
