For all the people who love ed edd n eddy i bet youve wondered whats under double d's hat? well so have I! and here are my ideas...

maybe he's bald? that would be kind of embarassing...

ive also thought that maybe he has a third eye or a growth of some sort under there

It's an inert gas making up about about 1% of the atmosphere. Decay product of Kalium-40, which slowly leaks up thru the ground and accumulates in the atmosphere.

Who cares what's under there? Maybe it's a family of tiny aliens that control his brain. The writers probably decided it's best to just pretend as if there's something, but they've not really decided what should be under there, allowing them to use it as an ongoing gag.

Well, Argon (37, apparently) can be created from the decay of Calcium-40.

Argon-37 is created from the decay of calcium-40 as a result of subsurface nuclear explosions. It has a half-life of 35 days.

Wiki says that Potasium-39 is needed, not K-40 (I never knew that the K came from "Kalium").

That's probably right for those isotopes, but atmospheric Ar-40 (99.6% of all atmospheric argon) is from K-40. The process is electron capture.

K is Potassium, not Kalium.
Argon can be created through beta or Alpha decay, from Chlorine in the latter, I expect.
And wouldn't it be Ca-40? Seeing as an Alpha emmision goes 2 down the table, while Beta goes one up.
