I know this has been discussed in other threads, but I'd like to have a single spot where we can check in and see how much longer we might have to WAIT before starting a new game. If those, unlike me, who have the most experience and the best understanding of how these things work can offer us their expert estimates, it would be greatly appreciated.
It’s is disappointing that the only timeline in every patch/release they is soon and the soon can be a few days or few weeks. Nevertheless the patch release is SOON.

The real issue is that whenever they HAVE given a set date, then something unforeseen happens and they had to push back, people here started acting like spoiled children.
I'm sure they have a set release date in mind and don't want to announce it, and I don't blame them.

This is the consensus and it's probably true. Although I dream of a reality where everyone is treated like an adult. Where you could give the planned date and postpone if the unforseen happens without having to fear recriminations. Oh well...maybe in my next life.

A noted elsewhere, the Mac and Linux versions sent to 2k for approval last week apparently didn't get final approval and new versions were sent about 24 hours ago. I don't know how long it will take for 2k to give the thumbs-up or -down on these.
IIRC, they said in the livestream that they want to release the patch for all three platforms simultaneously.
So basically, when we get the patch depends on (1) whether the latest Mac and Linux versions are approved and (2) how long approval takes.
And that could be today or sometime next week. Slim chance for even longer.
FYI, according to some people in this other thread, it looks like next week for the patch, possibly as soon as Monday but more likely a bit later than that.

I know we expect the patch will likely be released sometime next weak. And this could be firaxis intention as well by now. But you never know. Perhaps things take longer then expected for getting all 3 patches out simultaniously. There could be hickups.
I’ve done some minor programming. What i know from this is that if you run into something that should work but aint working for whatever reason. These things could be solved in ether minutes/hours or days. Dragging the release past next week.
Dont hold your breath and assault the forums next week. Firaxis learned from the past not naming a fixed date. Cause these releases can’t be planned on an exact date.
