well there is quite a large percentage that feel like they can contribute to civ questions, whether they give a decent answer is completly different.

But we can monitor it very easily. At 1535 my time, we are 419 posts over 1 million. Checking posts after a few hours, a day, a few days will give us an estimate of how many posts per day will happen for the rest of the year.

At 0655 my time on 17/1, we're up to 15,365 posts.

That's 14,946 posts in 15 days, 14 hours, 20 minutes.

That's ~40 posts per hour, ~960 per day, ~350,000 for the year. (all to 2 sig figs.) No 2 million until late 2008 for us.
