Where are the civs?

There doesn't seem to be many civs available to play in the main menu screen. Has this mod reduced the number of playable civs? Yet when I look in the Civilopedia I see a huge list of civilisations such as the Venetians and Native American tribes. Are these not selectable?

There are two groups of civs in the mod, main civs about 34 are fully realized and playable. And minor civs like the Venetians, North Americans etc, they appear in the scenarios to fill the map a bit as far as I can tell. These civs dont come with the full set of units iirc.

Some, like the Venetians are so called "derivative civilizations", they split from the "mother civ" through the revolution mechanic, in my current custom game the Romans were destroyed but their lands were inherited by the Spanish and Venetians in medieval times,

the Dutch and the Texans sprang from the Americans, another starting civ iirc, and they now all coexist into the 20th century.
