I would probally live in Spain. They responded to the U.S. as an ally against a terrible regime. I will remember that, when I visit there. I don't know when I will, but I will eventually. I love most European nations, but I don't like the politics of some of them. So, I wouldn't want to live in those nations, naturally which inludes the nations of my ancestors). Those nations are France, Germany, Ireland, and the Ukraine. The other one, Cuba, doesn't have a great political system, either, IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I do love those nations, but lively there is another story. Back to Spain, it's Catholic and would likely accept someone with my political background.

Did you know that majority of people in Spain are lefties?

And that 91% didn't support the war?

I think you have a wrong concept of Spain.

On the topic, I would choose Italy: good quality of live there

:D

I must say my ears are burning. NZ would be a great place to start a new life as long as you're prepared to get out and about.

As for me, I'd definatley consider Australia. But since I've been given a remarkable oppurtunity to start over I'd probabaly chose a European nation (France, Germany, Netherlands) just for the experience.

That's not to say I wouldn't just start totally from scratch and create an entierly new country on a small, unclaimed island.

Which country... which country... hmm. Maybe Norway, Canada or Germany... New Zeeland looked nice in the Lotr movies ;)
Japan would be an alternative too.

Why do so many people want to live in northern european countries and Canada? Okay, they're very prosperous, neat and rich and so on, but don't you think it's kind of boring in Sweden or Finland? There's nothing interesting in those countries (no interesting cities or culture). Also it's very dark and cold half of the year and the other half it's light at night. Not really a great climate to live in.
I would rather live in one of the mediterranean countries: great climate, relaxed way of life, much to do and to see, great food, great nature, cool cities and so on.

I cant stand the Latin attitudes to women - and my wife would deck a few of them. I hate the egocentric preening and posturing.

Give me the outdoor typesand life in Canada, NZ or Scandinavia any day.

You don't need a good climate, great food or great nature to play CivIII. ;)

Too many computer adicts in here I think

I hate to say it but i would move to New Zealand... they have the best of everything.

OMG!!!! Did I really just hear an Aussie say something nice about the Kiwis?!?! HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD?!?! :D  :D

I must agree with Mikoyan on this matter.

And about the weather, I think that the summers we have in Sweden can be too hot at times. And the winters arn't so harsh. And you appreciate the summers more with a bit of change.

I would choose to live in a good conservative country like the US. Australia would be nice and so would Spain. Aznar is someone I gather whom I could do some business with.

1) Did I say they were right- wingers? I only said Spanish are more accepting of others, with of course some exceptions. That is what I meant.

2) Your goverment supported the coalition against Hussain, despite the '91%.'

Please be a little more respectful next time.

Well if Denmark were to disappear then I would move to any other Scandinavian country, Finland or Holland… They are so likeminded… Hmm, perhaps not Finland after all (Sorry Panda :p) It’s a bit too cold for me…

But Sweden is the prime candidate… I just love your low prices on houses and apartments :goodjob:

Cimbri
BTW: Nearly moved to Sweden this month, but was persuaded to stay.
