I am certain B5 is neither Tamar nor a gothic queen. Neither of those would make sense besides as extra female leaders (yeah, Tamar is great, but her in Vannila and not Persia and Mongols is ridiculous, she should not be more than DLC).

I bet Germany will get bonuses for being aggressive toward city states seeing as Barbarossa is the leader, perhaps a way to bully them into giving bonuses? Anyway since they showed a little about city states and religion I'm guessing Spain or Germany.

That would be kind of a cool way to simulate the HRE :)

Good point, really it is very likely we see Greece or Rome next week.

But I want to see Sumer, but I know that its chances are not great.

Well schools will soon be reopening around the world. And since that means writing, maybe that will be a time for Sumeria to get some love. it certainly would not be Civilization without representation from the cradle of civilization itself. And since Gilgamesh is slated to make a return to the series, it looks to be Epic.

I have no idea who the B5 leader is. Hard to find something to fit between Germany and Greece. Some claim it might be a Native American leader, but I don't think so, or Ghanaian leader (which I also think is wrong). Only Firaxis knows who this is.

Germany, Greece or Rome probably, reasons have already been mentioned alot.
Don't think it will be Russia, because with all the coverage on olympics and russian athletes, showcasing them right now may be a bad move PR-wise.

Australia, by then we will be 3rd in the medal tally at the Olympics... not bad for a population of 24 million.

On a side note I can't find that thread with the leaders pictures... what's it's name?

How are you planning on commemorating the anniversary?

I will consider what might have been if Trajan had lived another 10 years in good health. A nice historical what if. :)

Umm, you think Australia will win more than 100 gold medals and more than 300 medals overally? :mischief:
Also Hungary is before Australia both in Gold medals (167 vs 139) and in all medals... not bad for a population of 10 million. ;)

Actually the current order is USA, Russia/Soviet Union, Germany/GDR/FRG, Great Britain, France, Italy, China, Hungary, Sweden, Australia.
Australia has a chance to overtake Sweden in the 9th place, but nothing more

Really??? You're going to include golds East Germany won??? They were doping to the max.

Speaking of doping, if Columbia are ever in will cocaine be a luxury?

Clearly I've watched Narcos to much.

Hmm...some sources say Trajan died on August 8th and some say he died on August 9th. So Tuesday, August 9th could be the 1899th anniversary of his death, after all.
Hoping for Rome. :)

Well, most of the biggest and/or economically most important countries are heavily use doping anyway.
Just think of the recent Russian athletes scandal. China and USA are no expections either at some point of their history.
But really there are some dopers in every country, unfortunately there is no such thing as clean top level professional sport in most sport factions.
Anyway, to answer your question: it doesn't really matter if I count East Germany or not, it's still before Australia even without those medals. They are on the 5th place instead of the 3rd that way IIRC.

But back to the actual topic of this thread:
I'm fairly certain one of the ancient civs will be next: either the Romans or the Greeks.

Rome. It'll be the 1899th anniversary of Trajan's death on Monday.

Sounds like the odds are pretty good for Rome then!

I feel we should see Fredrick soon as well, but I couldn't find any significant dates for next week. Doesn't mean it's not likely we'll see him, though.

I'm feeling Germany as well.

Mostly because it is one of the "well obviously it is going to be included" type of Civs (not the only one of course). Since England and France are already announced, Germany should be coming up shortly.

I suppose Russia fits here for the exact same reasons, but I have a feeling it will either be Germany or a Rome/Greece next.

Russia was actually well received during the parade of nations last night. And given their history of strong Olympic performances time after time, all the more reason to reveal them within the next 2 weeks. Of course mentioning Olympics means time to get to know Greece and Rome this coming week.
