Slightly reconsidering now that I know Eleanor's achievement. Although a science victory does mean a long game, so I can smash up a neighbor of the other Eleanor on my own schedule if she doesn't start near me. Hmm...

I'm actually a little more excited about Eleanor after today's stream. I think I will play her 2nd to last instead of last. Canada will be last. :p And I am tempted to play her twice, but the 2nd play won't be any time soon.

I agree with this. Eleanor looks more interesting. Trouble is I also want to test out England's new abilities and I still think Eleanor will work better for France. Still moving Canada down the list is easy.

If you don't mind me asking, what made you more excited? I don't have an hour to watch the livestream.

I'd guess watching her flip all but 1 Ottoman city (the one hiding in the tundra) in a single era (when the Ottomans where in a Heroic Era, OK, they fell into a Dark Age at the end but they had lost most of their cities before then)

I'm definitely trying my home country Sweden first. Just to get the feel for the new GS mechanics. After that I think Mali or Maori just for the unique gameplay.

Eleanor has also moved up for me. I enjoy loyalty flipping so I might play her second now
Also moving Hungary one up and Canada one down

1) Maori
2) Eleanor as England because of the new Workshop ability
3) Phoenicia / Mali
4) non GS civ - probably Egypt or Japan
5) Sweden
6) Hungary
7) Canada
8) Ottomans

Pretty much this. Considering it's really the only thing they showed on the stream (other than Ed bragging about his canals he loves so much :) ), it's what got me most interested. I probably won't play her above King or Emperor, I doubt I can manage enough great works that way. But it would be fun to set up something like Ed set up in game.

Eleanor (probably as England). I have a feeling Eleanor will be one of my favourite leaders, generally, so will play as her (I really like her character historically, like playing both as England and France currently, and her special ability really works with my playstyle). Phoenicia would be my second choice for the first game.

I was going to play Mali first, but I think I want to get a handle on the new mechanics first, so I want to play someone a bit more general / traditional, so I think it will be Inca first. Probably Mali second, Maori third.

I've only played Germany, America, Rome, Indonesia, China and Egypt so far, and only Indonesia and Egypt will be in my hall of fame.

1) Inca - ideal for difficulty 5 or 6 because i want to play isolationist and on deity you have to play super agressive + to get a handle on the new mechanics and i haven't played civ in maybe a year, so... i'll need to get used to the mechanics again.
2) Maori
3) Mali

4) Aztec
5) Sumeria (trying deity if it's still the best civ)
6) Netherlands
7) Mapuche
______
Cree, Korea, Japan, Sweden, Russia, France (Eleanor ofc), India, Greece, Poland, Scythia and maybe some civs that are likely not to return in civ 7.

and we will see afterwards.

I have to win on deity, a religious and diplomatic victory, on a huge map, on a shuffle map, on a fractal map, and on a duel map yet for achievements. And maybe there is an archipelago map now?

I still didnt decide ... really confused, dont know which Civ, which map type (Continents or TSL), or even which speed (probably Epic , but who knows)

Going to go with Rome, it's one of my favorites and since I know it well, it will help me learn the new mechanisms. After that, it will probably be Mali.

I must admit, I am surprised at how high the Inca and Canada are in terms of votes on this list.
Code:
Maori: 58
Inca: 49
Canada: 35
Mali: 33
Phoenicia: 28
Other: 25
Random: 22
Eleanor: 18
Hungary: 17
Ottomans: 16
Sweden: 13
N/A: 8
(data as of Friday 2/8 at 1:30pm)

I am curious if it has to do with initial votes when this poll was first posted, that perhaps never got updated to more recently revealed Civ/Leader abilities.
