Well, now that we know that the last NFP civ will probably be Portugal, I decided to create this poll to find out which civs are most popular for a second round of passes. We know it's not very likely to happen, but we'll see...
You are free to choose up to 8 civs.
And I purposely excluded civs that are unlikely to be included in the game as playable civilizations, such as Tibet, Israel, Armenia...

I'd say the Philistines as another Civilization. They can represent the Levant quite well without having negative connotations from the modern world. Right, @Zaarin? :mischief:

I dream of a renaissance-Italy civ... granted, the chances of them actually getting in are low considering how much European representation we have already. But, in a perfect world, I would have preferred we got Italy before we even considered Scotland, Canada, or Australia...

We don't know what language they spoke so I image it would be hard to come up with names at a minimum.

An Italy with bonuses to Great People, a unique Great General type of Great Person, and Industrial Era Leaders could theoretically cover most of Italy's history.

Well, they do have the negative connotation of being, well, philistines. :p (Unfairly, I might add. Their art was quite sophisticated.)

Wrong on both counts. They were probably polyethnic, but at least some of them were probably Luwian--and they switched to speaking a Canaanite dialect within a couple generations so the weird archaic Hebrew with some Phoenicianisms that Dido speaks would actually work better for the Philistines. We also have a good number of Philistine names. Notably, Goliath actually was a pretty common name among Philistines, but Achish (ʾakīš - אכיש) was a very common name among their kings (to the extent there is some speculation that it was a title--then again, maybe future archaeologists will say the same thing about Louis in France :p ). All this is from archaeological evidence, not just from the Bible. There's actually a decent amount of information out there about them--at least as much as Nubia, for instance. If you want to see the Philistine civ design @Duke William of Normandy and I designed together, it's in his civilization idea thread. We went with Achish, king of Gath, of Biblical note, but one could just as easily go with Achish, king of Ekron.

My votes go to:
Assyria- I'd like a properly designed Mesopotamia civ in the game.
Austria- Obligatory European returner and is probably the only one at this point. Also has Maria Theresa as a big personality leader.
Berbers- North Africa needs a civ and would prefer them over Morocco.
Italy- Been wanting this since Civ 6 was announced.
Iroquois- The next "staple" not in the game. ;)
Navajo- My most wanted Native American civ. At this point North America is so big and has enough gaps that we could have two more right? :mischief:
Siam- If we go back to East Asia I wouldn't mind Siam returning. I'd differentiate it from the other SEA civs by giving it more of an Industrial/Modern focus.
Other-Benin Empire from present-day Nigeria would be my other choice with Queen Idia as leader.

Honorable mention to Haiti if we get another post-colonial civ in the Americas over two native tribes which I could live with as long as we get one. :p

I voted for Argentina, Assyria, Austria, Bulgaria, Italy (more precisely, Republic of Venice), Iroquois, Morocco and Navajo.

Although Tonga and Siam are also on my wish list, and I could rule out Argentina and Bulgaria to add them

I chose Morocco but Berber is just as good for me.

As much as I want more 8 civs, I don't think such a big pack is necessary. Perhaps a smaller pack with three or four civs to fill the main gaps is enough.

(And rereading my post, I just realized it could come across as condescending or abrasive, which was absolutely not my intent, so my apologies if that was the case.)

It's cool, sounding authoritative without sounding condescending is hard to do.

Anyway, it made me think about the fact that a good number of people has had their name into imperial titles, which is both cool and a little weird.

I really want:

Austria (My ancestors are from here)
Bohemia
and Assyria
I filled all the votes but those are my top three.

There won't be a second series of passes, but sure I'll bite

> Assyria
> Benin
> Berbers
> Bulgaria
> Burma
> Haudenosaunee/Iroquois
> Italy or Austria
> Tlingit or Haida

Alternative options:
Potentially the Hittites over the Berbers if possible (but not over Assyria), and I wouldn't hate Bohemia over the Italian or Austrian Civ (but not over the Bulgarians). Benin can be swapped out by the Ashanti or by any of the other main Nigerian ethnic groups, like Hausa or Yoruba.

Iroquois/Benin/Berbers should be led by women, as should their replacement civs I mentioned above. Austria and Italy can also fill in a female leader over the Iroquois or Benin, if needed.

I don't really care for alts, but I'll join the bandwagon of people advocating for an Ancient Era Egyptian Pharaoh. Hatshepsut would be my choice, but we can go with a man for variety, like Ramesses II or Thutmose III. :shrug:

Edit:

Judging Firaxis however, they'll come up with something like this

> Argentina
> Austria
> Denmark
> Haudenosaunnee
> Madagascar
> Palmyra
> Philippines
> Taino
> James I and James VI leading England and Scotland. :crazyeye:

If they did another round off passes and grouped the civs I'd want something like this:
Austria
al-Andalus
Amazigh
Haudenosaunee
Navajo
Hittites
Hawai'i
Siam
+an alt leader for Egypt grouped with the Hittite release

Pretty much a personal wish list, not particularly one that's likely to happen. I like Morocco but I'd love a left field al-Andalus appearance paired with the Amazigh as a Maghreb themed month. There are several great options for ancient civs but it's been a while since we've seen the Hittites and I think that'd be a fun return after 18 years.

I don't think there will be another round, but might as well make a list.

Navajo
Macau
Akkad
Tibet
Austria
Chukchi
Amazigh
Timurids
alt leader for Egypt, I'm hoping for Akhenaten

None of these are going to happen besides Navajo and Austria, but I can dream. Macau is only there because I would like a civ similar to Venice, and Akkad over Assyria is just a personal choice. If I could choose one out of all of them, it would be the Navajo.

Hah! I knew Austria was still popular. Basic people be basic. ;)

At this point my priorities are pretty set:

* Bulgaria
* Burma
* Berbers/Morocco
* Oman/Swahili
* Navajo
* Cherokee (yes, I think we should have both the Navajo and the Cherokee)

And then I threw in the Goths even though we can't cram them into modern nationalism like we could Gaul. But I still think Theoderic leading unified Gothia is a cool concept, even if he would likely look and play similarly to Basil.

Wouldn't mind Madagascar, or the Ashanti/Benin, but I do think Oman/Swahili deserve the SS slot first since it covers a lot of underrepresented territory.

Also, this is clearly a pipe dream, since there is no way we would get eight totally new civs in another season pass. We would almost assuredly be getting Assyria, Austria, and probably Morocco and the Iroquois returning. How boring.
