Which finger do you use to scroll your mouse wheel?

Heck, I'm using a laptop mouse, which is about 80% the size of a regular mouse.
This is a combination of a "my laptop mouse is too small" problem with a "my hand and fingers are too big" problem. Three fingers across just don't fit.

My middle finger gets a lot of exercise while I am driving so it has the muscle capacity for swift scrolling.

Index. If I'm reading things then I really don't need to do much clicking anyway, and for gaming I never scroll through weapons or w/e with the wheel I just select them with the numpad.

I use middle-click for teamchat. I select weapons by the keyboard numbers.

Teamchat is default V on TF2, which is all I ever need it for, and easy for left hand to reach. I also select weapons by keyboard numbers.

Holding v means that moving right is problematic (not to mention also reloading). Unless it's a toggle, then it might work. But then again, middle-click is such an easily accessible button that can be set to something useful.

Hmm, I never really notice that, though you think it'd be a problem.

Well, if you're holding v down, then that means you have to move right by pressing d with your middle finger. It completely messes up the wasd setup.

Except that's just strafing, which you don't usually do all that much.

My resting position has my middle finger almost all the way to the side of the mouse, like an anchor. It sits on the right edge of the right button while my index sits on the right edge of the left button.

So my index is actually closer to the wheel than my middle.
This.

I scroll with the index finger.

I just tried to use the middle finger, but since it's so much longer than my index finger is, and my scroller isn't exactly right at the front of the mouse, bad ergonomics kicks in.

I'll keep using the index finger.

Middle finger

Index. I rarely do anything that requires quick access to both left click and scroll. and when I do, I just rest my index finger along teh side of the scroll wheel so I can click or scroll without moving. 3 fingers on the buttons don't seem to give me the control of the mouse that I would like, but that is likely just from lack of practice.
As for the scroll wheel button, I rarely use it. the first mouse I had with one, the button was so stiff that you had to use your index finger and put effort in, so I tended to avoid it. In fact on this mouse, the wheel didn't roll, it shifted slightly forward or back and you held it in position. And if I used my middle finger to hit the button even now, it leaves my middle finger at an awkward angle and sticks way up.

This is also from a person who as a kid grew up on those horrible, square 1 button mac mice. I used those for years before I got my first decent two button mouse, let alone 3.

Mostly middle, although I do occasionally alternate with the index for rapid scrolling (like say, to make this reply).
