I agree that a SE asia civ is needed, but I think the Khmer is a better choice than Siam.

These are the civs I have in my own mod
Spoiler :

Rome
Egypt
Greece
Etruria
Germany
Russia
China
Israel
Japan
France
Indus
Persia
Ethiopia
Mali
Mauryans
England
Mongols
Spain
Scandinavia
Ottomans
Celts
Arabia
Carthage
Korea
Mesopotamia
Vijayanagara
Java
Khmers
Tibet
Vietnam
Mughals

IMO:
Tibet...worng place wrong time...if given a "new start" Tibet would have possibly become a spiritual center akin to Mecca

Souix(sp?) because "Native American Indians" are not all one culture...the NE and SW tribes were vastly different(this would also share what would be "Texas" therefore making it obsolete)

Polynisia - Any Island civ...there is a huge hole in Civs here...

to drop: I always ditch Cartage first...then Sumeria...china for Tibet...Scandinavia or Norway for Java(or any other Polynisian civ)...Brazil isnt technically covered, but the Maya and Inca "would have" filled that in, so I leave it alone(using Mercosur units for Maya and Inca later in tech tree)...Ive changed the Celts to Ireland(Im still a nationalist, even if born in US...full blooded Irish)...and then Scandinavia to Celts...Norway gets dropped for Souix...In my mod Korea is gone for Vietnam(I like Ho Chi Minh)...Canada, not a very influential country IMO, gets covered by the Iroquois...

Runners up:
Siam, Mali, Ethiopia, Aussie (aboriginie(sp??))...

Bulgaria and Bizantium is an idea...

In GATTM II the Iriquois also flavor into Canada, The Lakota (Sioux) flavor into America but get Different Units than the American Civilization. For example, The American Flavor fighter will be the P-51, while the Lakota flavor fighter will be the P-38.

The only problem in adding Polynesia is that they don't play well on real maps. I know some people never play on real maps, but I do pretty often. Otherwise I totally agree they deserve to be included.

Ethiopia, Mali, and Siam.

Ethiopia because they sucessfully repelled the Italian invaders before WWII (only African country to repell the Europeans).

Mali because they used to be a great power in Africa.

Siam because there are no southeast Asian Civs in that area, and they did sucessfully repel the Mongols.

Texas as a civ? are you bonkers?
You should put some SE Asia stuff, and some Nubians, Gaetulia/Numidia (Mauri), Abyssinia, some more North and South American tribes, primitve Slavs and Balts.
Also Scythia/Sarmatia.

I my mod, the Iroquois become Canada in the Modern Age (Aztecs->Mexico, Babylon->Iraq, Carthage-> Tunisia etc).

Hi Ares,

how do you the transformation from Aztecs to Mexico, Babylon to Iraq and so on in the Modern Age ??

Here's my current setup:
American
-Sioux
-Iroquois
-Inca
-Maya
-Aztec
European
-Germany
-Russia
-France
-England
-Spain
-Scandinavia
-Celts
-Austria
-America
Mediterranean
-Rome
-Greece
-Carthage
-Egypt
Middle East/Africa
-Babylon
-Persia
-Israel
-Arabia
-Ottomans
-Ethiopia
-Mali
-Zululand
Asia
-China
-Japan
-India
-Mongols
-Siam

I was considering splitting up the Med group and giving Africa a separate group, which would result in this:
European (11 civs)
-Germany
-Russia
-France
-England
-Spain
-Scandinavia
-Celts
-Austria
-America
-Rome
-Greece
Middle East (6 civs)
-Babylon
-Persia
-Arabia
-Ottomans
-Israel
-Egypt
Africa (4 civs)
-Ethiopia
-Mali
-Zululand
-Carthage
It doesn't really look much better.... Europe is huge, and Carthage is a misfit. :undecide:

Well, Carthage isn't African (culturally speaking) so of course it's a misfit. Put them in the Mid east group instead (as they started as a Phoenician colony).

But it sure feels weird to have Scandinavian and Greek cities looking the same.

What do you mean? There are five culture groups already. You can't change that number.

There are ways around this - for example, if you're making a scenario with only one age, you can put one or more civs in a different age so they can have different city graphics. But that's not an option in an epic-style mod.
