EDIT: Well, the problem resolved itself before I could finish typing a thought-through response... perhaps that should tell us something

I'll leave it up anyway.
You may well be intelligent, but you have not proven yourself to be either civil or unpretentious. Swiss makes a decent point. We do love new players and many of the recent ones have been fabulous. You, however, come in here demanding this and that and expecting people not to react. Its ridiculous the way you try to play the victim as if this was all happening because you are newbie.
To state the obvious, all of us were newbies at some point and quite obviously we felt welcome enough to continue our involvement here. If you do not feel welcome because we won't bow to your ridiculous demands, then that is less our problem, more yours.
Etiquette is for both sides of the fence. Most of us are at best warmly receptive and encouraging, and at best cordially uninterested. However, essentially ever newbie I've ever seen stick around did not immediately get in a fight with people over a minor irritation. They also did not assume that they had the capability to leverage their membership as some sort of effective tool.
A fraternity does not change years of tradition because one pledge demands it. I realize the analogy is somewhat exaggerated, but the point remains the same.
If you would like to continue playing, we would love to have you. This obnoxious victim behavior, however, is best left for OT
Finally, I agree with all of Symphony's points. Change is the Devil and so forth humbug!
