Speaking of using that in social situations, does anyone else here ever use internet lingo like that in spoken language? I say 'pwned' (pronounced 'poaned') in conversation with several of my friends.
Sounds like my entire school. :p Leetspeak is our collective third language.

It's pretty hard to use most of English Internet lingo in Russian conversations. Kekeke, however, is practically universal. :p

I say "lawl" sometimes, but its almost always in a mock-internet manner. I've never let slip an internet term without intention.

@Das, do you speak english with anyone? I'd be interested to hear if your english pronunciations are as good as written :p.

Iggy, its powned.

And I do, but mostly in a satirical manner. Like mocking those who do...:p

You guys are sad and pathetic and I hope you guys burn somewhere because of your usage of Internet slang.

As in 'ow' like 'how'? I pronounce it like 'oh' or 'oa' or 'oe' (which I all pronounce the same, by the way. I'm not sure about everyone's accent).

Says you, I believe you use internet slang as well :p

Speak in 1337speek? never.

I hate people who say 'R-O-F-L' people who pronounce roflmao are ok, but actually saying the letters...

or lol in general. lol or l-o-l both sound really bad.

Like owned but with a p sound at the beginning.

That's exactly what I do. But I'm not sure how you pronounce your 'owned'. I say it with a long o sound.

pow (ow as in ouch) and owned (ow as in oh!) sound very different.

owned and powned sound the same (with a p)

(though the more non-CFC friendly version uses an oo instead of own sound)

Sadly, I must admit that I've let 'teh' slip far too many times (and I'm so ashamed...)

It's "poned," as in "boned" but with a P instead of a B. If you say it any other way, you are fail. That and FTW are the only ones you can say without sarcasm and without simultaneously getting heavy leers from people in the know.

I sometimes say "Lawwlzz" (yes, the w and z are dragged out), "Roffle Mao" and "Le Mao" to annoy my friends or to make fun of something stupid.

Re: pwned. I think it should be pronounced as quickly as possible and with a Welsh accent. Seems more natural that way.
