While We Wait: Part 3

Wasn't the nation you currently control already a powerhouse, surrounded with NPC's anyway? What have you done so special with it?

Doubled it's economy, army and navy. Taking a powerhouse does not give you instant win. You have to have some sort of playing ability. Besides having such a huge population and area that it is hard to work with my stats.

Perhaps have economy divided into two (or more) parts:

King's Economy:
Nobles' Economy:

It may make people more willing to focus on domestic issues when they realize that they need to have the nobility on their side if they want to maximize their spending points. Conversely, if they choose to ignore their relations, they can see just how powerful an antagonistic nobility could potentially be.

Yes, that's partly what I had in mind, though I'm not sure about the names (there was, after all, a military-bureaucratic nobility in all the great empires of the time that was directly tied to the King's Economy).

I'm also planning to redo the Trade system, complete with key resources.

win? What is this term?

You might want to talk to North King. We had an interesting discussion about that fairly recently.

hopefully after we have haphazardly added new rivers to Europe (that oughtn't be too critical for awhile, but still...).
You're not haphazardly adding anything. There is a proper procedure and channel for protocol, and you will use it, goddammit. It was established for a reason, and that was to prevent endless alterations and iterations. Also, you're a liar about contributing! :p

You cannot win in NES unless you refere to your own set goals.

In completely different news, I ♥ U.S. Armed Forces.

Aren't you sort of U.S. Armed Forces yourself, making this narcissism?

Hasn't this horse been beaten to death, buried, dug up, beaten again, buried a second time, dug up once more and then beaten again? Just bury the damn thing before it becomes another spamfest.

Really, just about any orbital drop pods.

Hows "he started it" hit you? ;)

Long story, but the short of it is no. Also, even if I was, it'd be the USMC running it, not USAF. Though, really, considering USAF controls space operations, it might be joint if it ever comes about. I guess you could call it Possible Future Alternate Dimension Narcissism. ;)

On that note, considering it's much more logical for an Air Force to be the originator of space warfare than a Navy, I've always found it weird that most Sci-Fi has continued to stick with Naval terminology and concepts when addressing the idea of space forces. The only major exception I'm aware of is Stargate SG-1. I suppose a lot of it is much more convenient, but a lot of it's superfluous too. Interesting note to people doing thing with space settings somewhere to consider.

Stop just stop.

Historical romanticism. But yes, it's pretty silly. Though one could say that for the bigger ships, naval ranks make more sense.

If one NESer had left NESing forever, which one would you miss the most?

I think everyone's answer will be the same: NESing wouldn't be the same without Symphony ;).

Pretty much, yes. Although I'd also mention Lord_Iggy. The two are probably the most important in the terms of positive influence on the community.
