While We Wait: Part 4

Go for it, Dachspmg. Since we're like, so far ahead of them in terms of statistics, they can assimilate :)

I don't play EU2, instead I play Total War games and their mods.

Also, browsing the Total War .org forums (aka the Guild) I found a concept very similar to basic NESing called 'Interactive History' (IH)...looks awfully familiar, with more primitive stats of course (generally just population, economy, military), and they even have the same problems with mid-turn battle resolution and tactical planning that we do/did. :D As I have been doing in World History, I might start attempting to show people there the True Way that we have here. Might liven up the forums anyway, 'cause the dog days of summer (or winter, for BananaLee :P) are hitting us pretty hard.

Dachs, are you dachs on that forum? There are a few interesting games going on there, I must admit.

I am actually Constantius III. :p I used to only hang out in the EB section (it took me forever to get an account), but today I got bored with the World History part of CFC and started lurking in the World History part of the Guild, and from there easily migrated to lurking in Chapter House. Haven't joined anything yet, but may do so after reading through some of these and looking for open spots.

Their biggest weakness, I've noticed, is that their maps are horrendous for the most part. They also tend to lower the scale of the IH, just focusing on Europe. I dunno, maybe I'm too fond of the Earth :p

Hence an excellent reason to convert them and either bring them here en masse or disseminate our style of NESing amongst them! Either way, more NESers is a good thing. :D

Regarding the Chapter House / IH, I see what you mean about the maps :) Otherwise it does seem like NESing here, complete with similar rules and varied game settings.

As a committed NESer I feel inherently superior to them and feel that they should be assimilated by NESing, though I wonder if I am biased slightly :)

Now why would you think you were biased in that opinion?

Well y'know, I've invested *alot* of time here so I want this to be the best place :)

Grr, I'm finding LINESII to be more and more of a chore as I work on it. My schedule is starting to lighten up, it's still the summer, but I find my inspiration evaporating, superceded by a sense of duty to the ever-patient and wonderful people involved in the NES.

It's certainly my fault. I, like several others *nods at Daft*, have found myself caught up in increasing complexity. LINES was a small NES which didn't attract much attention, and came to a fairly definitive end. LINESII started off small, just a map a few centimetres wide. Now, it is a page in size, but I update at the same level of detail that I used to. I am faced with a dilemma: should I reduce the complexity of this intricate NES that we have crafted? I say that I will do this, but I, like others, repeatedly fail to significantly lower the quality *nods again to Daft*.

I think the most significiant thing is that I struggle in the massive, chaotic wars that routinely mash up large regions of Tellus. Currently, with New Veritas and company versus Anabetan Khemri, I have found myself hesitating for several days to get started. I am afraid to misinterpret elaborate orders, afraid to make mistakes.

I trust that I will prevail, for this update at least. Back to work.

I don't know. I thought this summer I would be doing more NESing. Instead I am finding it a greater and greater chore and doing less and less.

Maybe it's because the only value inherent in NESing is how much work you can procrastinate by doing this "educational" thing instead.

Exercising effort to appreciate a hobby? Never! Implausible, impossible, indubitably wrong! And there you have it! LightFang is: today's Worst Person... IN THE WORLD! [/Keith Olbermann]

:p

Yes, that is my Wikipedia user account, which I haven't updated in a very long time (on the order of a year and a half I think, outside of removing some vandalism by personal acquaintances of mine). Congratulations, you've scared the . .. .. .. . out of me. :p

We just went through that a page ago, stop worrying about it.

Stats hurt the eyes, if you work on them too long, but as a perfectionist I have to go back and keep editting and editting them.

Blow up New Veritas and send Thlayli to meet his maker (Satan) Iggy; I'm sure that will solve all your problems :D ;)

Why is that surprising? The North King on wikipedia is indeed me.

I had that problem in stNNES3, and it's the reason why I closed it in the end. Trust yourself, Iggy, and things will go much more smoothly.
