What type of general am I currently?

A general General, which can command 9 divisions. You currently have infantry with artillery brigades attached. I've since upped the skill and rank of those in the screenshot to at least Lieutenant-General (3 divisions) and starting at skill 3.

On a more enlightening note, what is this NESland stuff?

I guess I am attempting to violate this thread with more of my random wierdness. I dont currently have another thread to vent this stuff. I also like the game Hearts of Iron : Doomsday. And after playing the normal game alot, I now find it even more fun to customise it and share the results on this forum. I truly hope this is not too offensive

The penguin mr Trik is already armananet minister with this trait. I agree, I think its the best thing you can have from the mininsters. When playing as Germany, I always make sure their genius guy (Hjalmar whasisname?) survives the political scandals so you can use him all game.

Just reading his posts it seems to me that it is him attempting modding the game. While also gaining more posts and making everyone like him more.

May I remind you I have less than 2000 posts, while I've been registered here for 5.5 years? thats roughly 360 posts/year. Compare that to your rating of about 3500 I can't help it if everything I post is 100% relevant and full of wonderful things .

I just watched "Brave Heart" and wow... The Scots would have Veteran bonus, culture bonus. skill and speech bonus..........

I like that film too! Its not very realistic though, from what I know of the real history. But I still think its great

Offhand question: How do you post a poll? I want to see the general position on me making a simple Fresh Start Nes?

As far as I can remember, it's an option you can click on when you make a new thread. I forget if its at the top or at the bottom of the screen. You then post as normal, and then another screen appears where you can enter the details for the poll.

I'd also like to be an alternative Air Force Cabinet Member with a focus on TACs/CAGs, and a doctrine researcher (skill 6) that goes along the line of TAC/CAG doctrine.

OK sounds cool! The nation has need of a good aerial doctrine researcher. Although, is TAC all that great? CAS seems to work well against everything, sea or land. At least it did last time I played as the USSR.

TAC sucks compared to CAS, except for range. When you're too lazy to move planes from base to base like me, you'll be grateful for the range. But for the purposes of really beating the crap out of everything on the ground yeah, CAS ftw.

Nesland at war with Germany:

While the USSR harassed the poor Finns, Germany declared war on Denmark and Norway.

New researchers joined our ranks to help prepare the NESer forces for war.

Germany attacked Belgium. This was it. We waited for Belgium to fall.

But the French counter-attacked in force. Things got messy. The first German attack stalled, they even lost some troops in a pocket at Gwent. But France couldn't keep it up. The Germans regrouped, and within a week were approaching Paris.

Nesland declared war on Germany, to restore peace and order to Europe.

XI Corps, the most powerful formation in the NESer army, led by Field Marshal Symphony D., occupied Cologne without a fight. Things soon heated up, though. Our air and ground units did very well in their first battles.

Generals JosefStalinator and Luckymoose, and Field Marshall Warman17 led the attack into Belgium. We soon reached the Dutch border.

German units in France were cut off, but strangely seemed to have few problems with supply. They continued to advance and pushed right through to the west coast of France.

A week later, NESer forces were at the gates of Berlin. Originally the eastern force was only meant to hold the line. Such an epic advance was unplanned. Some would say, we should have risked a direct attack...

But our units were disorganised. While we paused to regroup, German forces counter-attacked in the south, and we were pushed back. Azale and Luckymoose's armies bore the brunt of it. A couple of weeks of skirmishing followed.

Our new air commanders did a good job of harassing the enemy lines.

Meanwhile, French forces had rallied. Together we crushed the last German forces in flanders.

By September the advance continued. Berlin was swiftly surrounded. A probe by Lord_Iggy's motorised infantry army found that the enemy capitol was only lightly defended. The attack was pressed. Feanor’s infantry helped from the north, while das and Abaddon helped from south with mixed motor/tank armies. KrimzonStiker, andis-1 and Insane Panda were also nearby, but advancing eastwards, keeping Berlin isolated.

And so, it turned out that Lord Iggy had the honour of capturing the enemy capitol!

Penguin forces under the command of Trik completed the liberation of Denmark.

But, oh no! We pushed too hard again, and another counter attack hit. General andis-1 and Kol.7 were cut off in the Lodz pocket.

Luckymoose, Warman17, JosefStalin and others were advancing slowly into the hills of southern Germany, without much progress. None of our units were in good shape really.

Also, who was it who saw 10,000 BC? I forgot, and couldn't find the post again. But I remember they said it was all a bit silly. I've seen the trailer and it looks that way to me too. Family members have expressed interest in going to see it though...

Sure thing! BTW, the other day I found a cheat for XCOM for basically infinite money. Sometime I may try a game with it. Without need to keep countries happy to get funding, it would be possible to only bother with selected missions to bring back things to advance the research tree. And there'd only be NESer soldiers from the start, and absolutely no reloading
