Several. One of them has marks all over her arms from where she continually cuts herself sideways. I ignore that pointedly, I think she's stopped since because she's not getting any attention.
She's taken to posting pictures of her ass on facebook instead.
Good to know that you know several, but I'm just pointing out that I know more popfolk that cut themselves, for attention that is.
That is a good point though, but a rather random question, why do I then know so many emos who simply enjoy being emotional, not cutting themselves or seeking attention? [confused]
Exactly. Mental people do what emo's do.
Except that I wouldn't state that the emo concept is about being mental, it's rather about being in contact with your emotions. I do agree though that the insane people shouldn't be the way they are, but they shouldn't be qualified as emos nonetheless.
I don't mind the fact that their abnormal. I find that the concept of normalacy is very weak anyway.
Agreed.
I mind the fact that emo's or the vast majority of them are pseudo-depressed-attention seeking-wannabe suicidal-losers. And their music sux balls.
Perhaps. But I also think that the vast majority of emos are kiddos - teens seeking attention - which might aswell lead us to the cutting. You
could say that the followers of a way shapes the way, but I just don't think so. I think that the original way is unshapable, but that the followers can use the way to found their own way. Therefore I think that being emo has been brutally beaten with a teenage stick.
It sounded rather cultish, but I don't know how to express myself in English in another way.
On another note, I'm curious about the music, I never heard 'true' emo music. I've heard screamo, of which 92% is crap, and more popular or rocky bands like Panic at the Disco and My Chemical Romance. But they aren't emo, I'm told.
