While We Wait: Part 6

I do. THanks abunch silver!

Can someone edit an avatar picture for me? Or is there a thread for that, too?

It actually helps remind me who was in what neses and such,
Might be helpful, I suppose, but join date works just as well. I wasn't in LINES or LINES II, two of the apparently iconic NESes of the past few years, despite being a member of the Fifth Generation.

that and its a badge of honour, after a while of being here, you have newer generation of noobs to play with and you are no longer the lastest generation.
lol badge honour?
What he said. Rely on NESing achievements as a badge of honor. User is in favor of meritocracy where implementable.
That is why you should stick to the facts (join date) and put the titles and badges you want in your sig where no agreement is needed.
This thing.
You people have a strange desire to categorize useless things and put them in neat little boxes.
Also this. Funny how I agree with silver. Why make a generational system when all it apparently does is lump people into internally inconsistent groups?
I think you lot should relax on sp. The NESing community retains structure thanks to players who are rather young when they begin; as I recall EQ was 14 or 15 at the time of RTOR II. Given sp's enthusiasm and activity, I think it's a safe bet he will become a NES regular, which could secure him as a member for many years or more.
Lots of people were teenagers when they started NESing. :p I know I was 14 when I started NESing, NK was younger than that, and das was even younger than that. Not that this is an excuse to make fun of sp1023.

Frankly naivety doesn't impact his quality as a person in any way. Perhaps it could hinder him in such areas as the corporate world, or politics (wherein I could see the potential issue in NESing), but on the whole he's an altogether pleasant person. Hostility towards sp is misdirected; someone like him deserves encouragement, especially at an age as tender as his.
Naïveté is one thing, and I personally don't have a problem with it. (Though it would be nice if he looked some stuff up for himself once in a while. :p) But in DipNES06 there was an issue wherein he had trouble understanding the (relatively simple, which nobody I know has had an issue with before) rules of the game, even after they were provided to him multiple times and explained. It seemed like he wasn't even really reading them, and I do have a problem with that. Ignorance is one thing; willful ignorance is another. Generally he seems to be doing fine, and learning well compared to what he was like earlier; incidents like the above, however, still recur, and ought to be avoided.

Yes, I agree. However, I really don't want to look up whatever the hell g strings or thorgs or whatever sheep was talking about every time sheep talks about them.

No, it wasn't willful ignorance. I just refused to believe that something so simple could be so complex. Usually, there's a catch, but there wasn't one in this case.

I can understand that.

Silver has very few things that interest him. Among them sex, beer, and weed. Hahaha.

none of which are good influences on a 13 year old sister. Why're People so interested in X anyways?

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

the 2nd one is warrddd! Can I use it as my avatar?

kentharu i nearly died laughing
i cant believe that there are still people who think the earth is flat

Yes, oh my god.

What I'm curious is why everyone here seems to have a fetish for collecting, collating, and numbering random crap? Does it make you hot? To each his own I suppose.

:lol::lol::lol: Wait, what's a fetish?

I'm waiting for the ground to tear open and Satan to arise from the depths of his fiery hell chamber and for him to drag you and your NES into it, where you will be tortured for all eternity. There are somethings that can't be forgiven. You sir are worse than Hitler, Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot combined. You are scum and I spit on you. Good day sir.

Yes, even carmen said thats not your style. What happened to the awesomely successful After Victoria? Make a sequel.

I thought you liked some of those guys, silver. So coming from you, being "worse than Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or Pol Pot combined" isn't all that bad.

:p

True, so true.

You people have a strange desire to categorize useless things and put them in neat little boxes.

Actually, I am taking you seriously, but you're just hosting the jokes right now. I personally see nothing wrong with that, I don't think they mean it the harsh way. Some of the posts - both their and yours - really make my day, and I can keep smiling for about an hour after dumping into WWW some days.

I mean this, really:

In sp1023's defense/support/whateverbutihavetowriteit, I will just note that my own sarcasm/joke detector is quite screwed up, as I am terribly naive.

Now when we're talking about sp1023, I will just note that the below post is true (no sarcasm) and that I really get annoyed when hearing about such kind of parents. Also, I would like to add that the remaining part of the post was making me giggle as well because I couldn't help imagining sp's parents sitting on their balcony, looking at sp at Tae Kwon Do carefully.

And sp, you have improved quite a lot in here. Seriously. You've got off the spam part in the NESing threads themselves, and currently I think we all find your posts relevant. And you are positive for this place whilst not being annoying.

AHA! You've forgotten paranoia and gullibility! ;)

But, thanks.

Does anyone else always look behind their backs to make sure no one's following them? Or look at the reflections in the glasses that you wear?

There is no conspiracy. :shifty:

Symphony D.: On a scale of 1-10, 1 being least related to you, 10 being most related, how would you compare your sarcasm level to this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjMYQyhjiYA

You call that sarcastic? I'm sure a fellow of your considerable insight would appreciate the higher order implications in that clip, and thus the futility of its use as a measuring 'stick'.

I know most of the forum is unmarried males. I thought it was important to pass on this advice to their future wives.

Sheep's NES is shaping up nicely and is only 3 updates in.

NK's N3S III is as expected a great game.
