While We Wait: Part 6

Because it's stupid?

I dont see how its lost any relevance... I just see people who are upset because they are not in a higher generation....

This is not saying that first generation nesers are better than second generation or such, its just saying they have been around longer which is decided fact.

How is having generations based on memorable neses of the past, rtor2, stjnes4 and so on stupid??

The fact is why are we discussing or trying to change something which was agreed to over two years ago?!?

Because other people want to get bumped up into the first generation.

I disagree, emu. Like I said, even though noone remembers my first NES, it was influential just in the fact that I had numbers right from the begining in a fresh start. Plenty of people IMed me after that NES to ask if I wouldn't mind if they used or added on to my system after that.

Well yours would have influenced the rules and other mods, but a popular nes influences the players.

It doesn't help you identify anything with respect to the players. Useless classification. We've been over this.

It actually helps remind me who was in what neses and such, that and its a badge of honour, after a while of being here, you have newer generation of noobs to play with and you are no longer the lastest generation. Just because you dont like it doesnt mean that its useless.... You just dont have to pay attention to it.

lol badge honour?

I'm actually rather happier that I'm a recent NESer.

Why is that? how could you know that you would be less happy then if you'd arrived here earlier?

That is why you should stick to the facts (join date) and put the titles and badges you want in your sig where no agreement is needed.

Jesus, what do I have to do to be taken seriously around here?

Actually, I am taking you seriously, but you're just hosting the jokes right now. I personally see nothing wrong with that, I don't think they mean it the harsh way. Some of the posts - both their and yours - really make my day, and I can keep smiling for about an hour after dumping into WWW some days.

I mean this, really:

Be gentle with our Sp1023. He brings enthusiasm to this place.

Also, unless your playing all of us or you have a documented medical condition, get your sarcasm/joke detector fixed.

In sp1023's defense/support/whateverbutihavetowriteit, I will just note that my own sarcasm/joke detector is quite screwed up, as I am terribly naive.

Now when we're talking about sp1023, I will just note that the below post is true (no sarcasm) and that I really get annoyed when hearing about such kind of parents. Also, I would like to add that the remaining part of the post was making me giggle as well because I couldn't help imagining sp's parents sitting on their balcony, looking at sp at Tae Kwon Do carefully.

My parents restrict me in everything.

And sp, you have improved quite a lot in here. Seriously. You've got off the spam part in the NESing threads themselves, and currently I think we all find your posts relevant. And you are positive for this place whilst not being annoying.

Has anyone ever slept in a hospital waiting room? I have to go tomorrow night with my friend for when his girlfriend is induced and wait for his baby to be born. Followed by emergency surgery to fix some issue. I'm starting to think this will be a very boring and annoying wait. I'm only doing it as brownie points for all the other girls that will be there.

Well, assuming you're not a patient, sleeping in hospitals is next to impossible, especially if you have a weak stomach. I advise you take something with you to keep you occupied (maybe the other girls?). Btw, also bring snacks. Hospital food is terrible :(

That's the idea.

Just get piss drunk before hand and then go and pass out. If you get alcohol poisoning you're right there. Everyone wins.

Here here on hospital food being shite. Gameboy or something of the sort is what I'd recomend. I completely disagree with Warhead on the other girls suggestion. Nothing's worse than having to talk to women.

Talking leads to better things.

In a hospital? No thank you. Who knows what type of infection one or the other may get.

I think you lot should relax on sp. The NESing community retains structure thanks to players who are rather young when they begin; as I recall EQ was 14 or 15 at the time of RTOR II. Given sp's enthusiasm and activity, I think it's a safe bet he will become a NES regular, which could secure him as a member for many years or more.

Frankly naivety doesn't impact his quality as a person in any way. Perhaps it could hinder him in such areas as the corporate world, or politics (wherein I could see the potential issue in NESing), but on the whole he's an altogether pleasant person. Hostility towards sp is misdirected; someone like him deserves encouragement, especially at an age as tender as his.
