While We Wait: Part 6

Ah neither was I, but thats beside the point. First of all I didnt bring it up, I just stated I was against any revision of the generation system that was agreed to by consensus some years ago
That's nice. And other people say that it's outdated and doesn't measure things all that well. As a way of categorization - if that's how you roll - it's silly. It lumps a relatively tiny portion of the forum into several distinct groups that don't differentiate between them all that well, as far as the majority is concerned. From the first five generations there are what, fifteen current NESers? And at the same time, it oversimplifies something that is far more nuanced than just "I was around back then". Stuff changes, dude.

I am also not asking you to pay attention to it, nor am I asking you to use it for your own opinions....
Good. I don't usually pay attention to it, and almost never make reference to it; that doesn't mean I can't recognize that it's outdated and should be revised.

I was merely stating mine that the generational system (for those who still wish to use it) should not be changed (eg. first generation should not be expanded).... it is however there, its in the neswiki that was formed about three years ago, so its legitmate for people to use it.
Wikis are made to be changed. :p

Honestly I dont think this would of become an issue, if it were not for the fact that I have 'Neser of the first generaton' in my signature.
It became an issue because Thlayli brought it up. Don't inflate your importance.

But as already stated I do wear this as a badge of honour, not many people who are still active can claim this, (emu, Warman, EQ, Jason would be the others I have seen) and its simpler than listing my nesing achievements which I assure you I am most proud of.... it is just too long to list ALL of it....
No, EQ, Jason, Warman, and das are the others that can claim that title. What, are you unilaterally incorporating second generation into first now? Follow your own advice, dude. :p

Oh and before we start getting into a discussion of achievements, many of them might not seem like major achievements to you, but its more about attaining the goals I set myself in any nes that I join.... I dont believe you can win a nes per se but you can achieve goals.
That's nice. "Winning" a NES always has been ********; funny how I agree with you there. Hell, I've never really 'won' a NES, yet apparently I have accomplishments.

Dasch you will always have my respect from that nes alone)
Apparently not enough of it for you to spell my username correctly. ;)
Putting "there are only two of import" right after a question ending with "which Central Asian city" seems fairly clear to me. :p
What about "in that period", which would seem rather important to me? And I figured Khan was implied since it was in the question. Silly of me, I know.

Ah Kamilian......

Dasch :p In case you havent noticed just because I have respect wont mean I wont take the p!ss out of you..... the two things are different.

heres a random question. how do you use a custom avatar?

It's on the same page as the regular avatar screen, you just choose a picture from either the Interwebs or your own computer. However, you need to be a member for 3 months with 30 posts in order to have one.

Is that all?!?! I remember the days when it was 1000 posts, nothing short of it..... or am I thinking of Apolyton?? :)

It hasn't been 1000 posts since I joined. You are probably thinking of Apolyton.

Probably I did spend more time nesing there than here in the early days..... Was actually there for a year before here :P..

I do know it used to be harder to get a customer avatar here though.

It used to be 65x65. Ugh.

Isn't it 80x80 for some people?
Pre-designed avatars are up to 80x80. Custom are 70x70. I wish they'd go to 100x100 and 10KB (theoretical maximum at 30 posts/page: 300KB! oh noes!) and be done with it, because 4KB is just wrong when all the avatars wind up in your cache anyway. The stupid UGO banner-ads take up vastly more space with their flash animations and stuff. It's needlessly draconian.

When I joined, you needed 300 posts for a custom avatar. You might also have needed to have been a member for 30 days; I'm not sure anymore. That was changed a year or two after I joined.
