Just to stir a little chat on this matter:
What about if Gelion's NES Guide, which seems to have gone to a halt and thus not finished, is destickied (Its link is still in the Notice Board) and the 'Next Orders Due'-thread is stickied...?
Thus no new clutter is created and there's no problem of needing to bump the 'Orders Due'-thread.
But what do you people say?

I disagree. The Guide to NESing is very useful to newbies. I know that when I first came, I read the guide all the way through (at least I think I do, I may be wrong though). If it was destickied, newbies who are not familiar with the way this forum works (including the Notice Board) would have no idea where to find it, or even if it exists. They wouldn't be nearly as good, which in turn may deter some. No, removing the Guide to NESing from the stickies is a bad idea.

Dropping the map thread makes far more sense than dropping the guide, honestly.
What we should do is rewrite the Guide, now that I think of it. When I first came to this forum, I looked at the Guide first, but it was confusing, and for me it was easier to learn how to NES by lurking. I suggest that both the Map Requests and the NESing Guide threads should be desticked for the time being, the Next Orders Due... thread be sticked, and that someone start a new thread where we can write a new Guide, or reorginize and salvage what we already have.
Regardless of whether that's a good idea or not, I'd be curious to know if some of the newer newbies looked at the Guide at all, and if it helped them.

I never looked at the guide until I had played a bit and by then it was not really needed.

I say we keep the guide, pending revision, sticky the orders due thread, and drop the map request thread.

Agree with Thlayli. I would also like to add that no new guide thread should be created. Instead, just keep adding to and revising the current one, as adding a whole new thread would be nothing but a waste.

If anyone is interested in the scoring model I developed for Imago NES, I have cleaned it up, added explanatory notes and made it easier to use. This one is filled with the nations in his NES, but those can be changed. Feel free to use and adapt as you see fit. Let me know if you have any questions. It is an Excel 2003 file.
