It wasn't meant to be patronising, but I apologise if it came across that way. Bedtime stories are, on the whole, nicer to read than arguments.

The NESers did achieve their goal with their breakaway forum IIRC, whatever it was. (Re-spammification of the WWW thread or something.)

I don't know where "more clicking" becomes an issue. As a subforum in All Other Games, you have the 'spam games' section, and the 'non-spam games' section instead of just 'forum games'. At least, this is the way I'd go about fixing this issue.

What bothers me the most is not the issue as a whole, but rather talking to the Mods seems to have the same effect as talking to a brick wall, though at least a brick wall would create a tiny echo. They won't even discuss it with us - it's been what, over a week and no one has given a just reason for why it won't happen other that "itz teh spam0rz." Not only that, but the token reason they have given rather insulting - by their definition, at least half the forum is spam and I hate to point out that it all has their own subforums, yet they won't do the same for us. It's rather aggravating to say the least.

It certainly is. Some of the NOTWs of the past have been absolute masterpieces, but they're just not interested. It's a complete double standard. Especially concerning NESes, they are a nothing but a separate form of forum game and they get their own forum. By their argument the NESes should all be lumped in with the rest of us.

Can't methos speak to them? He's a mod isn't he, and one who actually bothers to take a look at Forum Games once in a while instead of just making vague generalisations.

It jst irks me that your postcount isn't your postcount.. its nonsense. There is no proof that giving forum games a postcount would mean spam would run rampant. People soon tire of it and form their own police force (e.g. in NES for quite a while we were essentially without moderation, and very very little is needed nowadays.
The effort some put into these games should be valued, and this seen by the distinction of being valued enough to be counted.

Also, by splitting the forum, it gives a greater structure and community to those games that are important. The games will grow considerably.

NES was once just a single lone thread, with little to no structure.. see where it is now?
Forum Games could easily be that, even bypassing it as many many different games are suitable.


Dare I say it? Why not move all the "quality" forum games (AS WELL AS NES) into a new section

Birdjaguar said my proposal for the reorganization of the Other Games forum was reasonable. Hopefully this is indicative of good things!

• Alpha Centauri
• Never Ending Stories
• Forum Games
  • Spam Games - Beat the Pic Above You, Good Wish Bad Wish, Name the City, etc. Postcount is disabled here, obviously.
  • Non-Spam Games - Mafia, Night of the Werewolves, Lazy NES, Risk, etc. Postcount can be either enabled or disabled here, I couldn't care less. Enabling it would case my PC to skyrocket, which I'm not so sure I want, it's already high enough.
• All Other Games - Combination of everything else currently in the Other Games forum.

Historically we were part of Civ3 Stories and Tales. When we moved, we were so big (an still are imo) that it justified its own section
