It's actually a pretty cool service. Private chat is easier to set up and you can have it open in multiple tabs, unlike chatango which just makes one private chat screw up. Channels are actually useful. You can make the UI black or white. You can edit posts. The backlog is easier to view. And most importantly, it doesn't crash all the damn time.

Really though, it's better at just about everything. And it doesn't go to hell on mobile.

That too. Every time I try to get on chatango on mobile, I silently curse the entire world because of how many problems it has. It takes longer to quote a post than to respond to one. WHY.

The population of Discord involves members that make pleasant interaction challenging.

My experience of the exact opposite every time I've logged on Discord disagrees with your assertion.

yet another reason why chatango sucks:

it sucks at implementing cookies

I've literally never seen a non-IOTer on Discord.

That's not Crezth's point and you know it.

What she is saying is that the people who are pushing for Discord the loudest, are the people that tend to be the ones Crezth (and other people who refused to move like me) would rather not interact with in the first place*. So to us, we don't really see a huge incentive to move over to discord, when we actually much prefer the crowd that is still on chatango.

*Except Joan. I miss you :(

Even if people can't get over their cliques, I'd much rather have two different chats on discord than one on discord and one on chatango.

Discord is pretty good, although honestly there are some things that are objectively superior about Chatango (quotation, landscape for phones, automatic ping noises). Honestly I'm fine with the way things are, it's a little annoying but I doubt we're going to get one side to abandon one of the chats.

I'm not even talking about cliques. I'm talking how on Discord there's no policing of the content at all so communists are free to spam garbage and I have to click through 19 different chatrooms to find out where people who like free minds and free markets are at. I simply do not want to inhabit that environment. Say what you will about Chatango but there's no communism and no spam.

Discord be hype yo

What do you mean with this? I downloaded a chatango app for my phone, and it was almost useless due to only seeing 1-2 messages at a time from the chatroom...

I just prefer IRC chat really.............

You know you can block that, right?

Yeah we should definitely block spammers instead of banning them, and tell new people who join the chat to "just block them!" That way the mods don't have to accept responsibility for policing the chatroom. Thank god there are 190452158091295 staff members on every chatroom because otherwise there'd be lots of spam. "Just block them." Come on.
