Recent Mel Gibson movie that details the Life of "Christ", and his last moments. Fairly controversial, a bit of protest about this from, you guessed it, religious groups!!!

It doesn't detail his life, just the last twelve hours of it.

Oh, ok. Same thing . . .

I'm simply making the point is that if it chronicles his entire life, there would be a lot more than just the beatings and his hanging on the crucifix.

"I will see/have seen The Passion because I am Christian."

That is what I voted for. The fact the actors spoke in Aramaic and Latin was extremely interesting.

i have seen it, perhaps because i am a christian and curious about how he portrayed it.

"I won't see it because I don't like Mel Gibson movies"

Oh yah because this is just like Lethal Weapon 4! Or Die Hard, whichever he was in.

i saw it because other people paid my way, and i thought it might have some cool action to it(at least better flashbacks from when he supposedly said something great) it was gory yes but my warped mind had no problem with it. The greatest part about the movie wasn't even in the movie, it was all the people around me crying like babies(it was a good laugh especially with the 20 year old man crying) The whole story might do something for you if believe jesus was God and died for you, but for me it was going to show where i already knew the plot and the ending(which is quite boring) and killed a good night of sinning and blasphemies. To those who want to see it i would say don't bother.

ditto :o

besides it's not an attack it's what i thought of the movie, if you liked it good for you. I just really didn't like it(as you can probably tell).

i have seen it, for the story and cinematography. despite being atheist myself i found it to be powerful and moving. i also voted that i saw it because i love mel gibson, even though hes not nearly as cool as tom cruise

If I were alive 'round the time of Christ, I wouldn't go out of my way to gawk at the people gibbeted up for gory death. I'd be embarrassed, and avoid the neighbourhood.

I am going to see just to stick it to the Jews trying to tell us not to. :upyours:

they find that they are portrayed as barbarians. The (LONG) scene about the torment was rather barbarian. I'm not a religious guy nor a drop-dead-fanatic-pacifist, but I thought the scene was on the edge, regarding the movie...

Well I just want to see it because of all the noise made about violence and antisemitism. I just want to check by myself. You should have add another option :

"I want to see it because of the controversy about it"

I saw it because it looked interesting... I was especially interested in hearing aramaic (sp?) and latin being spoken. Plus I just like to go to movies. Plus I can be a shoulder for hot bible thumper girls to cry on.

I don't want to see it, because I am Catholic. Mel Gibson isn't the best man for the job.
